Negative results on ER PG test - question...
Well, first and foremost, let me wish everyone on this board lots of babydust !
I guess I can officially say I'm TTC again for baby #2. I just started, and am expecting AF later this week. I appear to be obsessed with taking PG tests lol. I already took 4 ER ones, all of which came back negative. Not a big deal, I just started of course. But my question is, is it possible to get negative results on these ER tests (3 days before expected AF for example) and then get a positive result later in the week? I apologize if I sound a little out of the loop. Some background on me:
Before I got PG with DS, DH and I had a "whatever happens" attitude. I thought it would take me awhile to get PG due to some health issues I had in the past. I actually got PG the first month of trying. I knew how fortunate I was and know this is not the norm. But because of this, I never really knew what was involved in TTC, besides the obvious, (charting, OPKs, etc.). The only reason I know this lingo now is because of you guys!
So please help me before I spend another 20 plus dollars on PG tests . I'm pretty sure of the first day of my last period, but not exactly sure when I ovulated. I have bought OPKs in the past but I never got a positive result, even when I thought I was ovulating. Ugh - this is so confusing! Maybe I'm better off not thinking about it and having that "whatever happens" attitude again.
ETA: I guess I'm just scared about a lot of things. I'm older now - turning 36 in November and wonder if I should have started ttc earlier. I just remember how tired I was with the first pregnancy and wanted to spend quality time with my son over the summer since we are both off.

Re: Negative results on ER PG test - question...
Welcome!
It's definitely possible to get a negative result and then a positive one later on. Every person is different, and some people won't test positive until AF is due. As we say, "It's not over until AF shows!"
How long are your cycles usually?

Re: Negative results on ER PG test - question...
I usually have 28 day cycles, so I'm guessing I ovulated somewhere between the very end of July and beginning of August. The first day of my last period was 7/16. So I'm guessing by the 14th or so I should know for sure.
Has anyone on here tested with an ER test, got a negative result and later received a positive one on a regular PG test (when AF was due)?

this happened to me! i got a BFN with the FRER .. then a when AF was due i tested again and it was a BFP..
sometimes it just takes longer .. and doesnt show up positive until AF is due , or late.
