Nervous & Scared
I am new to LIFamilies.
My husband and I have been TTC for approximately almost 2years now.
Next Monday I have an appointment with my Gyno Dr. to question what our next steps to take are in successfully getting pregnant.
I am really scared and nervous about the consultation. Does anyone have any advice or suggest any questions that I can ask the doctor?
I would appreciate any and all of your help.
Thank you in advance,
Good luck to everyone TTC

Re: Nervous & Scared
good luck tomorrow. about a year ago I started going through all the motions and tests. he most likely would want to test your husbands sperm (he'll give u lab paperwork), and then you'll make an appointment for a simple pelvic sono. After that I went to an RE cause I wanted to get my HSG test (dye test) at a different place then my obgyn sent me to. and the RE also wanted bloodwork. the RE also wants to retest husbands sperm at a different lab he prefers. so that is the next step. Thats really it. At 1st it seems totally overwhelming but now, I am so raring to go (once u get everything in order). Nothing is abnormal w/ my hubby and me but still no baby. Take your time. as i mentioned above it took us about a year to get all our tests done. try to stay calm.... i feel getting stressed about things can make it harder to get PG. U can forum mail me and i can try to help u out w./ your tests and what to expect. ~

Re: Nervous & Scared
There is a good thread by LaurenExp with questions to ask the Dr. It's more RE related, but you may want to do a search for it. As far as the Gyno - they won't do too much. Like the previous poster said, they will do some bloodwork and a semen analysis on your DH. He/She may also have you chart your cycles if you don't already and maybe use OPK's.
Generally, if the gyno can't resolve the problem within a few months, they will refer you to an RE.
Good luck...it's important to take this first step and remember, knowledge is power.
