I was never nervous about driving with DS. I went out with him the first week.
same with me. And I only sat in the back with him on the way home from the hospital. The mirror is great to have.

Same with me. I had him alone in the car the day after we left the hospital so I could take him to my mom's and he has been the car alone with me driving every day since then. Not nervous at all!

Re: Nervous about driving with DS... when did you
This was a life saver because it was so easy to look at him with this mirror and I didn't have to adjust my mirror at all. And the mirror that goes on the seat was sooo securely strapped on that I was never worried about it. I rather see him if god forbid he was choking or fell asleep weird.

Yes, I was a nervous wreck when I first had DD! I had to get over it though and I probably got out there with her in the car around 4 weeks--it becomes like 2nd nature so quickly though. I didn't have a mirror when she was an infant. I did get a mirror for my 2nd DD only because we were going on a lengthy road-trip when she was 3 mos.

The one that I have I managed to rig to stay above the rear-view mirror. If it hangs really low like in the picture, it will block your view of the road, especially side streets or pedestrians.

Re: Nervous about driving with DS... when did you
I just went out alone in the car with DS last week for the first time. He is 3 weeks old.
I was a bit nervous about it, but I had the mirror and it made me feel better. DS also likes the car rides. He always falls asleep in the car, so that made it easier.

I have a mirror and I love it. You should really get one so you don't have the turn around and look in a small one to see him.

I have a mirror and it's so helpful. I was a nervous driver to begin with but I find I'm actually more confident driving with Ryan b/c I know I have to be. I even took him to CT yesterday which is considered a road trip for me You have to just get out and do it - like anything else, it feels better with time/practice
