I would change the date because of the crowd level it brings. Not because they are gay or because of the shooting. You have to go through metal detectors at Disney, every single person. Of course not 100%, but I don't think the gays bring on anymore violence than some derranged lunatic on any ordinary day would bring.

The screening when you enter is pretty thorough. It isn't perfect, but it's not an easy target. Idk, I think Disney on any day could be a target for someone so I wouldn't avoid it on those dates for that reason.
But, I would be worried about crowds for any special group. Did you check what any sites say about the affect on crowd levels?
The other thing is, the week before we go back to school may be less crowded because other areas have started school already. I would go the last week before school starts if I didn't hate the heat so much.
