Never posted here before but was wondering if you could help question regarding hair coloring.....
first off hi all
ok so ive been highlighting and sometimes low lighting my hair at a salon for about 15 yrs
and i have always hated it and the time it takes ( 3 hrs ) i now have 2 very young children and basically dont have the time to sit and have this done ... so my question is can i just buy a box color at the drug store and do it thant way?????
im worried that the root will take differently to the rest and that the hair that is highlighted will take on another color ..
my hair is very long so i would probably need 2 boxes but im so nervous that it will be a complete mess
please help me with any feedback as i would love to just do it myself .....

I would probably go to the salon for a single process to get all your hair on the same color page so to speak. It doesn't take nearly as long as hilights - about an hour.
I use loreal brand hair color mostly to cover greys. My hair is a medium brown color with various shades of brown/auburn. I don't think it looks fake. It seems darker at first but after a couple of washings it softens up and looks natural.
