Re: new born and infant poo question

that is exactly my DS's diet - half BM and half gentlease, and he only goes about every other day or every 3 days. (he is 11.5 weeks old)

but when he does go, watch out!! i have had a few exploding diaper situations Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

it's totally normal from what i have read and learned (in prenatal classes). as long as the poop isn't hard, he is not constipated and it is totally fine.

Re: new born and infant poo question

Well mine (11 wks tomorrow) is eating Similac, 30oz/day...and pooping 1x day (lots of wet diapers too).
I've had to use the thermometer trick a few times, as you could tell he was backed upChat Icon but he seems pretty regular now?
He's definitely skipped a day or two on occasion as well.

Re: new born and infant poo question

He goes every other day or every third day. The doctor told me to use a suppositroy if he seems to be having a hard time and I have had to do it a few times (usually if it's going on 3 days without poo). He is on Nestle Good Start and eats about 30 oz a day.

Re: new born and infant poo question

My DD goes poo every other day or every 2 days. Once she went after 3 days. She is on Similac Sensitive RS. She is 6 weeks old. When she was on 1/2 BM and 1/2 Similac Advance Early Shield, she would go many times a day- every diaper change was a poopy diaper! Chat Icon
