Those women have curves? At least they can see their belly buttons - I sure cant!

But I do think it sends out a positive message and I like the ad in general.. would it make me run out and buy Dove - well no, but it has definitely got us talking (which is the entire point , I'm guessing Chat Icon)

"real women have real curves"

like the marketing behind this ad campaign!! very refreshing message it sends, other then the usual - if you're not skinny as a rail, you're obese mentality!!! Chat Icon

would it make me go out and by it - probably not - but like the ad nonetheless.

Re: New Dove ad

you know what annoys me though. Like take Lane Bryant. Plus size clothing. They have skinny models who wear the clothes but they have it pinned in the back its gonna look differnt on you then it will on me.

The sizes started at 14. They have Steven Tylers other Daughter modeling for them saying she is a plus size model! WELL she is a size 12 So she can't even wear the clothes in there. Therefor she is not "plus size"

Re: New Dove ad

I like the Dove ads. I met the woman who spearheads the campaign at a seminar and I think what they are doing are great. They are actually getting tons of positive feedback from customers, their sales have increased but also other advertisers who want her team to do something similar for their products. I think "real women" in ads is a good thing.

Re: New Dove ad

One of the ads even say something along the lines of "Why would a size 2 model need firming cream"! At least I think that was one of their ads Chat Icon

Re: New Dove ad

I went and looked at their website after this post and I have to say, I applaud them. I think it is great they are using REAL / NORMAL women in their adds. And it isn't just body adds, but I saw a hair add too. It is about time!

I actually bought Kaboom the other day cause I saw a commercial about what it would do. And let me tell ya that stuff rocked and it did what it said it would do.

Oh I love Kaboom! It is the best thing for my shower.

I would say that I am somewhat influenced by advertising. I buy brand names rather then generic. Some things I have my brands and I don't change. But for example a few months back Dove had that new soap (the one on the Apprentice) after I saw the REAL commercial I ran out to try it - looked so refreshing.

Re: New Dove ad

well I thought since it was a firming lotion that a Skinny model wouldnt sell it, because not too many skinny models need a firming lotion ya know.

I actually know someone at my gym who tried it after seeing the poster for it, so I think the advertising paid off....

Also- the product is for a women, men dont use dove or lotion to "firm" that I know of...

Re: New Dove ad

I don't understand why there's a controversy over this ad. I actually think it's a bit refreshing to see people that aren't stick thin.
