ugh, that suucks. I hate to be the bearer of bad news (though I'm sure you already know) that you could still have m/s for a while longer, possibly even the rest of your pregnancy. I've had close friends who were sick from the moment they peed on the stick till the second they delivered. It's awful, and I hope this isn't your case.

It may just be coming back for short visits still for the next little while. I'm actually very nauseous this morning. I had a ginger ale with my bagel this morning and haven't needed ginger ale in a while. I hope you feel better soon!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

I'm 16 weeks today, and spent a majority of the weekend extreamly nauseus after not having any for a good 2 weeks.

I went this morning for my AFP/Quad screen. I'll have the results in 2 weeks at my 18 week appointment.

4 weeks from today is my Level II.. can't wait to find out if the tech who did my ultrascreen was right about the sex!

They just weighed me, asked me a couple of questions regarding family history (history of neural tube defects, CF, etc..) took 1 vial of blood and I was on my way.

I could have SWORN my doc said that there was a sono involved.

My mom is coming tomorrow, so I guess it's a good one for her to come with in regards to family history.

For ours, which we had at 12 weeks, we had everything you previously mentioned and a sonogram. During the sonogram is where they looked at the back of the baby's neck to look the folds for any indications of defects...it is good that you'll have your mom there for fam history...try to get some info from dad's side of the fam too. They build you some sort of "family tree" of history which they use in determination of your chances. Enjoy the sonogram! Its a nice treat to see baby once againChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

This is not the ultrascreen we were discussing. Usually between 16-18 weeks you will have your AFP/Quad Triple Screen. Which is another screening test which looks for nueral tube deficiency as well as another screen for downs. There was no sono involved just bloodwork. My next sono will be at my Level II in 4 weeks.

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

I hope they do a sono-- it's been too long since my last one, and I wanted my mom to see the alien!!

Maybe my doc will hook me up.

I hate that you have to wait so long for the results-- I got my NT results rather quickly. I am anxious about the AFP because of the inaccuracies of the results.

I got my NT results the same day. I'm also anxious about the AFP results for the same reason, mostly because I also got pregnant through IVF and I've read lots about how there is a high false postiive rate in women who are pregnant through IVF. My NT results were really good for someone my age, and we really don't want to do an Amnio.

Word on the amnio.

I thought that you can maybe repeat the AFP to see if the results differ.

Well, fingers crossed for both of us!

At the very least-- we'll do the HB tomorrow right?? If you don't get a sono, do they usually check for the HB?

I want my mom to see/hear SOMETHING if she is driving into Manhattan!

My last sono was at 12 weeks, my next one isn't until Level II in 4 weeks. I'll be exactly 20 weeks when I have it. I didn't even see the doctor today, so no HB was listened to. I just saw the girl that draws the blood.

Hopefully you'll either get to listen to the HB or get a sono.

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

Since we all are going for Level II sono soon, i thought it would be fun to make guesses on if were having a Chat Icon or Chat Icon . If you dont plan on finding out like me, you can still make a guess for the day you deliver. I will put the guess on the OP, so we can see whos gutt was right..

I know i will be wrong.. I thought I was having a Chat Icon the first time and I had Chat Icon .. but im guessing Chat Icon again. but well see in february. Chat Icon

I honestly don't know. At first I thought Chat Icon , but now I am on the fence.

I did think Chat Icon from the beginning with G & was right.
