I really wanted to be home with DD today-neither of us wanted to get out of bed. I have been so tired lately.

We have decided on names!!!!

Chat Icon Charles "Charlie" Donald(after DH father)
Chat Icon Charlize "Charly" Lynn
We really like the name Charlie/Charly if we have either sex but I wanted a more formal name for them as well.

LOVE those names!

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

I'm doing ok..... 23 W now.

My back was horrendous this weekend. DH left for Europe for 10 days last night for work so my dad came to staty with me until he gets back, or my back inproves because I'm having a hard time getting out of bed and moving down the stairs at night because of the two bulging disks. I'm hoping my second chiropractor visit tomrrow will help!

FINALLY started working on my registry yesterday after persistent pohne calls for my sister. I don't know why its so hard for me to do it Chat Icon

Baby girl is doing girl. I'm starting to get to know her "routine" its pretty cute. I know when she sleeps and is awake!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Only a few more weeks of teh "honeymoon" trimester Chat Icon

I learned something at my Level II - my placenta is posterior which apparently means that the front is allll baby because the placenta is toward the back. So according to the tech I will "feel every little thing".

It's funny because I told DH - before I knew about the placenta thing - that it seemed to me that this baby kicked way harder than Jake. But this explains it.

With Jake, DH was not able to feel movement until around 26 weeks, this time he was able to feel at 20 weeks - big difference!!

So the point of this long winded story is Chat Icon

The position of your placenta could be contributing to you not feeling the baby as much. Chat Icon

I'm sure that what you are feeling is the baby and it will get stronger and stronger!

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

Good morning Ladies!

How is everyone?

Glad to hear all is well with everyone from what I have been reading!

I am fine.. approaching 23 weeks tomorrow and moving right along. Loving my maternity clothes, they are so comfortable.

I have noticed already that my shoes are getting tight. I am already up a half size to a full size. anyone else experience this?

Dh has been rubbing my feet to avoid swelling.. thank goodness for him.

The baby's room is well under way and should be done by thanksgiving!

We found our furniture and dh's mom is going to order it for us. so excited!

How is everyone's registry coming along? we still have lots to add. but, we made tons of progress.

cant wait to hear from everyone else!

My feet have definately started to swell. It was noticeable last week. I'm 24 weeks now. I've taken to wearing my flip flops all the time except at work, but I take my shoes off under my desk anyway Chat Icon By the end of the day, I have cankles. I did go buy more comfortable shoes last week, and noticed I had to get a half size larger.

I haven't started my registry yet, but I'm in no rush since I'm not having a shower.

That's funny cause I found out at my last appt that I have an anterior placenta meaning the placenta is all up front, which is why it took longer for me to feel anything at all and when I do feel him (which i totally do now) it's more like, dull kicks and pokes than sharp ones. Which at first you'd think is great because it won't be as painful but my OB warned that I could grow to hate it because I'll feel him sharpe on my spine and my organs which is more painful than the belly kicks. Oh well. Chat Icon

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

Hey Everyone!!

My feet havent swelled to bad lately, but been getting cramping from my knee down to feet.. so uncomfortable. DD woke up one morning screaming and I jumped up to get her and "Bam".. a charlie horse in right leg with a HUGE Knot in my calf.. it hurt like HE LL.. I used to get when pregnant with dd.. horrible.. They make you want to scream!! Dh has been massaging my calfs and feet the last couple of nights and been drinking OJ for potassium and increasing my water intake.. seems to be helping tons!

Nothing else major go for my Glucose test two weeks from Thursday.. know im going to fail. Wanted to test my blood this morning but my test strips from last pregnancy expired in June and wont work in my machine. Chat Icon darn just wanted to see how it was running. oh well.. Im trying to enjoy myself now with the goodies and then deal with the diet in a few weeks. Chat Icon

Good Luck to all the Ladies going for Glucose test soon!!

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

So I realised as I slid out of bed this morning that although I am only 21w, I am as big as when I was 32 weeks with GChat Icon Not a good thing to realise first thing in the morningChat Icon

I am definitely trying to enjoy every minute of this PG b/c it will be our last, and DH has been the same. He is loving every minute of it with me, and has been great with involving G. (when we ask G where's the baby, he points to his bellyChat Icon )

We are not even trying to get a nursery done, as we are putting our house on the market in a few weeks (yay, finally done!) and I know we will have to do it all over again, so we just made some room in our BR for the co-sleeper and some necessities.

Other than that the baby is measuring a week ahead according to the Level II, and all the organs and bones look great! I am assuming at this point that I do not have to go back for more views, since I have not heard anything from the Dr, which is so different than with G and my 3 trips to MadonnaChat Icon

Hope all of the ladies are doing well & can't wait to meet everyone at the Brunch in a couple of weeksChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

Sorry to hear about everyone's feet! That stinks- head to Payless and get some comfy flats in the next size. They saved me last time.

I am such a bad Mommy- we aren't even doing a nursery for our second. I was surprised at how many of your second timers are doing one. We still have the bassinet set up in our room(filled with old toys of DD's, some blankets, the bobby and the baby bjorn of course) so the only planning I am going to do is get new sheets. I figure we can do the nursery once he/she is born. I am not too anxious to give up our guest room. Chat Icon

Drink lots of water and sit as much as possible. I will try to take my own adviceChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: NEW February Mommies to be Thread!!

hi girls!

i will be 25 weeks this week. i was a little nervous last week, b/c that was the time i had gone into the hospital with a leaky water bag with my DS. not that it is likely for me to have to be on bedrest for 2 months again, but still, i had that thought, what if it happens again?

not so much swelling... but sciatica is acting up again. shooting pains up and down my leg/butt.

ckgm, we aren't doing a nursery for DD either. we will just have her in the bassinet in our room and figure it out later.

i am stressing out over DD's middle name... i know we have a lot of time still, but i don't know what to name her. i was going to go with my MIL's name for the middle name, since DS has a version of my dad's name. now i'm thinking of mixing my mother's and MIL's names to come up with a name.

i would love it if you could help me come up with some names! mother's name is rebecca and MIL's name is teresita. thanks!

Ok. I went to the OB today. I am up 3lbs now. The OB said this time with Andrew I was already up 12 lbs so that is good. BP excellent and a little protein in my urine but I don't drink enough so that is ok.

And I am officially going to be a Jan Mommy. My c-section will be scheduled at my next visit for the end of Jan.

I also got my scripts for my Glucose TestChat Icon and my Fetal Echo.Chat Icon

I just feel like they are two seperate individuals who deserve their own name. Im going to see if i can find another pretty name of a flower that can also be a middle name.. that way they have a connection.
