It is a very interesting article.
I would like to mention that in my setting (a school/psychiatric day treatment center) and in special education as a whole, there have always been more boys than girls. Some are on the spectrum, but most of them are NOT.
Some theorize that teachers are quick to refer boys (sooner than girls) for special education services, but I think there is a seriously disproportionate amount of boys IMO, I think many disabilities are more prevalent in boys than in girls. Perhaps it is genetics, environment or a combination of both.
