New Kids on the Block's Joey McIntyre to Be a Dad
Former New Kids on the Block singer and season-one Dancing With the Stars contestant Joey McIntyre and his wife, Barrett, are expecting a child, he has announced on his Web site.
"I just bought a new house in L.A. We loved the beach in Venice, but what can I say, that freakin' commute kills ya," he writes. "Plus, it's really a dream house for us and we are gonna need some more room – because my wifey is pregnant! Can you believe it?! I can!"
It's fitting that McIntyre's big news should accompany a change in living quarters: The singer, 34, met his wife, real estate agent Barrett Williams, 28, in 2002 when she showed him a house at 809 Nowita Place in Venice, Calif. (He was her first client.)
"It was the biggest life-changing moment I have ever experienced," McIntyre told PEOPLE in 2004. He rented the house, fell in love with the agent and married her at New York City's Plaza Hotel on Aug. 9, 2003.
The following year, he released a solo album, 8:09 – the address of the Venice house and his wedding date. How did he know his wife was "the one"? "Barrett's smart and has a great sense of humor," he told Playbill while starring in Wicked on Broadway in 2004. "I had to find someone smarter than me, funnier than me and crazier than me, and I found her."
