new mom to be here looking for some words of assurance
So I found out this past weekend that I am pregnant and I am sooo scared yet excited at the same time. DH is estatic and can't stop grinning. We just got married in April and most people are like oh wow you didn't waste anytime but well we weren't really planning it either. So anyways any words of assurance and happy thoughts would really help. I'm about 2-4 weeks not even sure cause my hormone levels were too low to even estimate. Going for my first gyno appointment next week.

Re: new mom to be here looking for some words of assurance
I just feel horrible cause part of me is screaming and yelling with excitment and another part of me is like OMG i can't do this, we're not ready, so many things are gonna change... Is it wrong to be having all of these feelings all at once. DH is being soooo supportive and is soo happy and part of me is terrified.

Re: new mom to be here looking for some words of assurance
I was TTC for months and I kind of freaked out after I got the BFP!! I'm almost 30 and totally ready for this, but I think everyone goes thru some level of "holy sh!t....what am I gonna do??" The hormones make it that much worse.
So expect to freak out and don't beat yourself up about it. It will pass.
If your lucky like me and get morning sickness, just remember, as much as it sucks, that too will pass.
Sore boobs...will also pass, until later I guess.
Exhaustion...will also pass.
Buy the book "What to expect While Expecting". It helped me a lot.
And keep coming on this board. We all know what you are going thru and speak very frankly. This board definately helped me get thru the tough parts so far.
Congrats!!

Re: new mom to be here looking for some words of assurance
i think it's totally normal to have some mixed feelings about being pregnant, even if it's something you've always wanted. a baby DOES change your life in a million ways... but i promise you, once you see your little one on an ultrasound screen you will never look back!
on a practical note, morning sickness can be awful. if you get it, write a post asking for tips, many of us have been there.
overall, i would advise you to go with the flow of pregnancy... every day is different. be ready to make and break plans at the drop of a hat, and expect the unexpected. pregnancy is truly an adventure!!! enjoy it as much as you can!!

I agree with Zeta, this is great advice. Congrats and listen to your body.
DRINK a ton of water and if you haven't already, start taking folic acid. GL!

My major symptoms early on were that my breasts were super sensitive and sore and I was tired almost all the time.
Congratulations!

Re: new mom to be here looking for some words of assurance
Congratulations! You will be wonderful parents! Not to worry. Do yourself a favor and get a good pregnancy book like Your Pregnancy Week By Week and read up on all that is happening to your body. At your first visit, they will draw some blood, get a urine sample and do a sono depending on how far along you are. My nausea kicked in at 5 1/2 weeks and didn't leave for a while so don't be upset if it sticks around. Ginger Ale works wonders! Light, small meals do too!

Re: new mom to be here looking for some words of assurance
congrats!!!!
we got married last june, got pregnant the end of sept (3 months later) and i just had my little last week, 4 days after our 1 year anniversary, at first people were like oh you didn't waste time, etc and we were constantly asked was it planned (it was, we thought i had PCOS and thought it was going to take a while-we got preggos on the 1st try) and truthfully you just have to ignore them, now that my little peanut is here, we dont here anything of that sort, everyone is just too in love with him. its none of anyones business whether it was planned or not, a baby is a blessing so you and your DH just celebrate and enjoy!

Re: new mom to be here looking for some words of assurance
Congratulations! We have been trying for 6 years and just got my BFP after 2nd IVF, let me tell you I'm scared too! I'm worried about the pregnancy and also that at the end of it I'm going to be a Mum and I'll be 40! So I think the feelings are natural no matter who you are or what your situation
I have sore boobs & I'm tired, peeing every 1/2 hour, 24 hours a day, a little nauseous, but too much, but I'm only almost 6 weeks.
Good luck at your appointment. Don't worry, you'll be fine, enjoy your pregnancy it's a beautiful thing
