New Mommy here- Need some hugs
Hi- My dd is 5 weeks today.... everything is going ok, I am just so TIRED!
I just didn't expect I would be so sleep deprived. My hubby works a lot and travels and my closest relative is two hours away.... I just feel so overwhelmed and could use some hugs.
Thanks.

I do remember that feeling very well. At 11.5 weeks, though, things are SO much better! And it will get better for you, too.

Re: New Mommy here- Need some hugs
Sleep depravation is the worst part - it makes everything else so hard.
Hang in there, at 6wks many babies start sleeping longer...DD started sleeping 4-5 hours at a stretch and then quickly moved to sleeping 6-7 hrs.

Re: New Mommy here- Need some hugs
I am in the same boat, DD will be 5 weeks on Sunday. I feel pretty crappy. I wanted to take the baby to the mall today to walk around, but at 1 pm, I'm finally eating lunch, still in my PJs, and feeling gross. Just waiting for DD to wake up and feed again. I don't think I'll make it today.
They say that 6 weeks is the hardest and then it gets better.

It's not just sleep deprivation. Your body just carried 20+ extra lbs for 10 months & labor is the equivalent of a marathon. You've certainly earned the right to . It does get better. I know everyone says it, but sleep when the baby sleeps. Let everything else go & take care of you & .

Re: New Mommy here- Need some hugs
It does totally s*ck in the beginning.. i always explain sleep deprivation to my pregnant friends as "physical pain"... it blows. But, as all the girls said it will improve.. my son slept better at 8 weeks. Now, if i could just get him to sleep all night at 8 months, i would be eternally grateful. Hang in there...

Hang in there. She is almost to the point where more sleep will be more possible. You're doing a great job.
