New mommy here with some questions....

Well I finally made it over here! My little boy, Gavin Gerard, made his debut on Thursday 9/25 after a scheduled c-section because he was breech. Recovery has been a little more difficult then I expected, but I'm feeling better day by day.

Anyway, I have a few questions for ya! I started out trying to BF, but I'm getting very frustrated with it and decided it's probably not going to work out for me. I've given DS some formula today and he seems to be tolerating it fine, but I was wondering if he will have any problems adjusting and when I will notice them? Last night was rough, I guess DS has his days and nights mixed up because he was up almost every hour feeding pretty much every 2 hours (yeah frustrated is an understatement!!). I've tried keeping him up and feeding him more often today, but we'll see how that went tonight!

My second question is for anyone who needed a blood patch. I ended up with one yesterday after having spinal headaches for a few days. My headache went away immediately (yay!) but my back has been sore on and off I guess from where he had to re-insert the epidural. Is that normal? I wouldn't say it's painful, just sore and achey.

All I can answer is to the feeding question. My DD is almost 9 weeks and I am BF. She eats every 2 hours still......

Congrats! zregarfing bf and formulas - my ds is 5 weeks and he does both since my supply was very low. If you supplement be careful since it van diminish your supply from the beginning. I didnt like des hungry so i supplemented. It can work

I supplemented also because my DD never really ended up latching on properly. I pumped for a month and a half. As that month and a half went on my supply diminished so she was taking more and more formula.

At probably around a month old she started having probs with the formula. This was because she was on more formula then BM at this time.

She was having a hard time pooping. Grunting and seemingly in pain or at least discomfort when she pooped. We told the doctor and he switched us to GentleEase which worked out well for her.

Good luck!! Congrats! Chat Icon
