Re: New Moms-- Your post-partum body...

um, i don't think i got into my pre pregnancy jeans until 12 months...

dd was born in the spring so for the spring/summer i wore long flowy dresses and skirts. i had a few of those from pp so i didn't have to buy them.

i bought 2 pairs of jeans in a "transition" size for the fall/winter (1/2 between pp and preggo size). this made me feel SO much better. even though i hated buying a bigger size, having something that FIT instead of maternity jeans does a world of difference for your self image.

in the winter/spring i bought jeans in my pp size (but i still couldn't fit into my pp jeans, my hips were/are bigger).

and in the spring/summer i finally fit back into my pp jeans. wasn't too big of a deal though since i only had 2 pairs!

Not a new mom.....but I had my baby over 3 years ago, and I don't fit back into my pre-pregnancy jeans yet.
No need to rush!

Re: New Moms-- Your post-partum body...

I never bought transition clothes and I never wore my maternity clothes after I delivered. I found it to be good incentive. After DD#1 I was back in my old jeans by about 10 weeks and after DD#2 it was about 12 weeks. You CAN do it!

ETA: I gained 21lbs with DD#1
I gained 34lbs with DD#2
has a c/s with both.

I am 7 months pp and still fighting off the last 10-12lbs. But in fairness to myself Chat Icon I gained 53lbs. But I am committed to somehow getting those pounds off. The funny thing is, I've been back in my pre-preggo jeans for a while noe, probably since 3-4 months. I guess the weight just shifted on my body.

I gained 14 LBS (severe morning sickness) I am back to my weight and my jeans / pants are soooooooo tight and uncomfy. My body has kind of shifted, I need to go shopping for bigger size but I keep hoping things will go back. DS is 4 months

Re: New Moms-- Your post-partum body...

I'm at 10 1/2 weeks post and am 34 pounds over my pre pregnancy weight.
With DD1 I lost all the baby weight plus extra and was down to the smallest I had ever been in my adult life (a size 2...but to be fair i'm 5 feet tall)....it took 9 months to get to pre preg weight and then another 3 months to get to what I really wanted to be.
This time around....a whole other story....
I gained 56 pounds....and EVERYTHING shifted. I had problems with hip and pelvis which didnt allow me to workout like I did with the first pregnancy...so my legs and tush is where I gained alot and they have gotten horribly misshapen. Belly is a bowl of Jell-O.....
I refuse to go out and buy clothes and just pray that by a year out I can fit back into everything I own.
But in the meantime....its me and my yoga pants

I fit into my pre-preg jeans, but the butt droops like crazy. I'm actually weighing less, but the tummy is not budging Chat Icon

eta: I was able to get into them at 3m with help of spanx, its 6m pp now. I gained a lot, I think around 45lbs, but according to my doctor it was a lot of water.

Re: New Moms-- Your post-partum body...

I gained 35lbs during my pregnancy, and still have 7 to go. With that said, I am nowhere near fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes! I have actually been 4 or 5 pounds heavier than I am now, and can't fit into those clothes either!!! Chat Icon

I had no choice but to buy a few things that fit. I still wear yoga pants most of the time, but I alternate between 3 or 4 tops right now, and 2 pairs of jeans. I'm BFing and on a dairy/soy/egg free diet and STILL not losing weight. Chat Icon

ETA I am 4 month PP

I am a little over 11 months PP and I just started to wear my pre-pregnancy jeans. I bought new jeans after I had DS. One size up from pre-pregnancy days. I wore them all fall and winter of last year. Now I am back to wearing my size 16's.. Chat Icon

None of my clothes fit me the right way anymore. Including my shirts. Chat Icon

I found that if I bought jeans that sat below the waist fit better...
