Shows like this make my blood boil. It's one thing to enjoy watching a trainwreck, it's another to reward these idiots for acting like spoiled, immature, lazy, stupid brats.
Since when did this become acceptable? Why aren't there shows out there about the people who work hard for their money and aren't all about themselves?
i despise Jersey Shore, my sweet 16, and all those shows that glorify and reward stupid people.

I'm sure I'll watch this, and unfortunately I grew up with a lot of my friends being this way. My parents friends are all North Shore and "loaded" with girls just like this, a total sense of entitlement...While I'll be the first one to admit that I was raised comfortably and had a lot, my parents still instilled a sense of responsibility in me. I worked my azz off in a career that I loved, I never went to my parents for money or expected an expensive car, bag etc...these girls are awful and unfortunately I know them too well, and I feel that this generation is even worse than the ones I grew up with...but as Beth said I cannot stop watching a trainwreck A lot of the girls I grew up with married "rich" and never lifted a finger in their lives..but most of them are beyond unhappy in their lives...just bc they're lacking some sort of fulfillement, the rest that are happy are just clueless..and the rest are miserable and are desperately looking for a man to marry just to marry...pathetic...

 Seriously. Who brought the Jews into this? Why does princess translate into Jewish, Hailey? Why be proud of being called a religious epithet?
Plus, how special a mentality do you have to have to wear a plain white v neck shirt and some 7 year old tundra boots?
And what's her obsession with tap water? I fail to see what's so special or elite about her.

These girls make me SO angry. Seriously, I worked really, really hard to do good in high school to get into college. I didn't have rich parents so I had to take out loans to get an education. I did "all the right things" and you know what... there are no jobs and I'm struggling so much. Meanwhile, these girls are handed everything... money, cars, houses, don't go to college or if they do, spend it sleeping around binge drinking only to be rewarded with more of mom and dads money and getting a job at the family business or with one of daddys connections.... barf.
It's these girls who get shows on stations like E! which shows young girls that all you need to make it life is to be rich, shallow, a have little to no morals, rather than working hard.
I 100% agree with all of this!

I haven't heard of this yet. I will probably watch because I can *not* ignore a good trainwreck when I see it. However, I can guarantee that after each episode, I will want to throw my remote through the TV. NYers already have a bad enough rap- let alone LI... and now a show about it? ugghhh

Same here, I'm busting my behind to afford what I need/want. I don't have it handed to me .... I feel everyone's pain, I am from Staten Island and all these reality shows make us look really really bad. My friends tease me and when I go away to visit my BF's friends upstate I think they are prepared for what they see on tv

Uch. Sounds like my high school experience. It was SO bad that a bunch of boys in my school peed on my car. You know why? Because it was a used Volvo, rather than the brand new porsche, mercedes, lexus, BMW, Delorian (yes, a kid in my school got a brand spanking new delorian and then wrapped it around a tree, and poor him, got a new porsche as a replacement instead).
I'm trying to forget that chapter of my life, not relive it!

does anyone notice how the majority of these shows are about people from a certain area? the NE/tri-state area is getting such a bad rap because they give these morons TV shows...between the housewife shows, the jersey shows, now a LI show...it's ridiculous...
it makes me embarrased to be a former New Yorker/Staten Islander living in the south...i am afraid people will hear my accent and assume i am like those idiots they portray on TV...
and what's even worse is it's encouraging more people to act like these idiots they see on TV - i see it with people on FB...i really don't get it...i am so glad i moved i say it jokingly but really, part of the reason we moved was to get away from the Staten Island mentality - between all the jerky people and the price of housing it was time for us to get out..
i won't watch these shows - people watching just makes the ratings go up and it makes the demand to have more shows and i don't want to have any part in encouraging it...

Yes, because that is what Long Island really needs. More over-dramatic, spoiled, stuck up, brats who think they are so much better than everyone else. As if this island isn't congested enough - now we get to look forward to camera crews and whatever other entourages this ridiculous show will bring. Seriously, it makes me sick to my stomach that these people make money by publicly acting like trash while the rest of us who are good hard-working honest people have to sit by and watch. And what's worse is that their parents are actually proudly allowing them to go on national television to display just how much of a burden they are to society. Ugh!!!!!
