New ward at north shore Manhasset!!!
Ok ladies we had our tour today and got lucky to get to see the new ward because technically it is my opened yet!! The nurse said possibly by Fathers day and the guy workig on the new ward said next week!! So I guess we will see! BUT I saw both new and old and the new is GORGEOUS!!!!! the rooms were amaZing, he bathrooms were the size of the rooms in the old ward!! Haha. Everything was great!
If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask. You will all love it I can promise that.

I am so excited about this, but nervous because they keep pushing the date back each time it's supposed to "open" fingers crossed for next month!!!!!

My c section os scheduled June 28th. I really hope it opened by then. Does anyone know if we will still have to pay for a private room and how much that is?

I can't wait. My doctor (who is on the board) assures me it will be open by the time I deliver (either at the end of July or beginning of August)

No they said since everyone gets private rooms in the new ward there is no charge. Which is very exciting because their private rooms now start around 500 a night.

no i was there for some testing in L&D. i am supposed to go on the tour today at 1:30 but am on bedrest and may have to skip it. was it worth it?

no i was there for some testing in L&D. i am supposed to go on the tour today at 1:30 but am on bedrest and may have to skip it. was it worth it?
Oh I hope everything is ok!!! Well the tour is an hour and half, you first sit in a conference for the 1st hr but the actual tour is only about 20 minutes. It is sorta worth it but they may not even show u the new ward we just got lucky yesterday and we almost didn't even see the old one bc so many woman were in labor. Hope all is well with you!!!

thanks so much! i am on bedrest and have to have twice a week NSTs and BPPs to monitor the baby's growth, as her abdomen is measuring a bit small. so far everything is looking good with her, thank goodness! dr. morris-rush, who attended to me at the hospital yesterday, told me to skip the tour bc i probably wouldnt even see the new wing anyway so i think i am going to skip it and just rest today. thanks for the info! i cant believe they made u sit through an hour long meeting...sheesh. what could they have said for an hour??

me too!! it was suppose to be open already!! my due date is june 25th! i hope i make it! it would be a shame if it wasnt open yet.

LIJ also has a new ward opening but it won't be until early fall.

They have private rooms but the cheapest ones are around 500. Once the new ward opens everyone will get them. Hopefully it will open soon!!!

I'm actually in the new maternity ward now, had a c section Monday. You basically labor and deliver in the old part and then they bring you upstairs to the new private rooms. It's beautiful. So nice having your own room. My room is right across from the nursery which is nice. You will love it!!

I'll be having a scheduled c/section also.
Do some people recover in the old part or no?
Will I know for sure I will get a private room? That would be amazing!

Recovery was in the old part, but i was only there for 2 hrs or so. Everyone gets a private room. Good luck to you!

My ped told me on sunday that they are still putting some people in rooms in the old part- it's just luck of the draw. He's there a few days a week and said it's annoying b/c he always has to search for his new babies.
