New WW Program: What are you eating?

Since we're just starting out on the new program, I'm just wondering- what are you eating and how you're spreading out your points? Maybe if we can get some ideas from each other on some lower point foods.

This is how my day went so far:

Breakfast:
egg whites (1 pt) with spinach and onion (0 pts)
grapes (0 pts)
1/2 cup fiber 1 cereal dry (2 pts)
coffee with some milk (1 pt)
= 4 pts

Ran 6 miles at High intensity for 55 mins = 8 activity points

Lunch:
Gardenburger Veggieburger (2 pts)
Sandwich thin (3 pts)
Sweet potato (4 pts)
= 9 pts

Snack:
Salad with FF dressing (1 pt)

Dinner:
Turkey sandwich from subway (7 pts)
Light Chips (2 pts)
Carrots (0 pts)
= 9 pts

Snack:
Light and Fit Yogurt (3 pts)

Total Points Used: 26
Activity Points Earned: 8

I get 29 points a day so I'll probably have another 3 pt snack when I get home, but I won't end up using my activity points.

Today is my first day on the new plan, I have been on WW since Feb 1,2010.

1 Turtle Mini Bar
Subway 6" Turkey w/ swiss cheese on whole wheat w/ lettuce, spinach,tomato,cucumber,red onions, banana peppers and sweet onion sauce.
Baked Lays chips
For dinner we had the recipe from the weekly book lemon chicken w/ capers, we had this with asparagus, and wild rice pilaf.
I also had 35 jelly belly jelly beans too.
coffee w/ skim milk
and I might have a WW ice cream bar.
My points went up . I can't believe how much they went up!!!but I am so not hungry right now. I am overwhelmed a little bit, we will see what happens next week at the weigh in. Man you would think it was black Friday in the meeting this morning!

I didn't know much about the plan when I went food shopping on Saturday, so I am not doing much different from the old plan. I was going through the list of Power Foods though and I will take those into account when I plan for food shopping next week.

Breakfast:
Light Whole Grain English Muffin (4 points! Chat Icon )
Egg whites (1 point)
Fat Free Half and Half in coffee (1 point)

Lunch:
Flax seed whole wheat wrap (3 points)
3 ounces of turkey breast (2 points)
1 slice reduced fat provolone (1 point)
Lettuce & Alfalfa sprouts in wrap (0 points)
Carrots (0 points)

Snack:
Tangerine (0 points)

Dinner:
Baked ziti made with whole wheat pasta, chicken sausage and lots of veggies (7 points)
Roasted Brussels Sprouts prepared with a little olive oil (1 point for 1 tsp of evoo)

Does anyone know what the points are for the following:

-Vitamuffin muffin tops (was 1 point)

-string cheese (the one I was eating was 1 point, about 50 calories, 2.5 g fat I think??)

-popcorn (I know it depends on the brand, I was eating one that was only 1 point, one of the 100-calorie types)

-pizza (I'm afraid to find out)

-Did they change how they do the activity points?

I'm getting a calculator in a few days and might join online...going to try and do it on my own first since I am just trying to lose 3-5 lbs before the holidays.

vitatops: Depends on flavo. Appleberry bran and bluebran are 2 pts each. Cranbran, fudgy PB, SF velevty chocolate, golden corn, multibran and bananut are all 3.

string cheese: string 1pt still for the WW ones

pizza: small slice- 5 pts, large is 7 (not a lbig change)

popcorn: I just had a 100 cal. bag last night it was 3 pts

Activity points are changed as well- I ended up earning 8 today on my 6 mile run!

I went to a meeting Sunday and I want to go again this Saturday (With the leader who I like) before start. I really want to make sure I understand the full program before I jump into it. When I joined in May I really didn't know the program and the first 3 weeks didn't go to well. So i will start on Sunday.

Do you have the book to look it up? If you want I can tell you how many pts you earned based on your weight and level of intensity (which I'm assuming was high if you ran 4 miles in 34 mins). I'm sure you easily earned at least 5 activity points.

I'm a beer drinker myself and a light beer went from 2 to 3 points.

So while bagel thins went to 3 points, Stop and Shop Light Wheat bread is only 2 points for 2 slices.

I guess I will be going back to bread to save a point! Besides they are cheaper than those bagel thins!

I had yogurt and milk in my coffee!! Does that count as two??

I have no idea how to incorporate oils in my food!

I got the book when I signed up.

I weigh 122 but I round down to 120 ( as to not over estimate my points). When I ddi 4 miles today (35 min for me) it came out to 4 points, so I'm assuming you're would be the same.

Did you have a full 8oz of milk in your coffee???? Chat Icon


As for oils - use it on salad, roast your veggies with it, put on popcorn, over a baked potato, put in smoothies, oatmeal, cook your egg whites in it, stir fry chicken, steak, shrimp, dip bread in it...........

Welll...I do put alot of milk.

I'll probably just skip the oils. I've been on WW 3 years now and never had them and I've been fine.

whole wheat wrap - 1 pt
2 oz grilled chicken - 2 pts
1/4 cup black beans - 1 pt
some salsa and lettuce - 0 pts

= 4 pts

And I have it with a sweet potato on the side = 4 pts


8 point lunch!

yummm, that sounds sooooo good. I think I'll do that for next week's lunch. And maybe I'll use a mexican style marinade or rub for the chicken.

Where do you find 1 point whole wheat wraps? I guess mine are more points because they are quite large...Chat Icon
