Newbie with question (endo related)
Hi everyone. I'm new to these boards, but wanted to introduce myself (I'm Megan).
Also, has anyone had any experience with the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta?
I sent them my medical records and they confirmed with me today that I am a candidate for surgery there. They seem very knowledgeable about endo and say they have a high success rate. The idea of going so far from home for surgery is a little scary, though. It would also be out of network on my insurance.
TIA

Re: Newbie with question (endo related)
I didn't know there was a center for it that does surgery? I had a Lap done for my Severe Endo (Stage IV) local through my insurance. They must have done good because I got PG that same cycle. Now we've been trying again for 4 months with no luck. This is after 6 months of Lupron too. I'm probably going to need another Lap.

I'm sorry to hear that you will likely need another surgery, too.
I also have Stage IV endo. I had a laporotomy back in 2002, but have just learned that they only removed the endometriomas but not any of the adhesions or other endo implants during that surgery. I could only handle 3 months of Lupron after that surgery. Props to you for managing to stay on it for 6! What a vile drug that is!
DH and I are not TTC just yet, but I want to get this taken care of sooner than later. The doctor told me that because of how much of my ovaries were removed during the first surgery, if I get another endometrioma, babies won't be in my future.

Re: Newbie with question (endo related)
I had my Lap in December 2005. They also only removed a lot of cycts and what else they could. I still had Endo all over that they couldn't remove. Basically right now my right ovary just doesn't work anymore, that's where the majority of the cysts were. I haven't felt myself ovulate from that side in almost 3 years.
The Lupron didn't bother me at all actually. I was very scared about it, but it ended up being ok. I also found out before TTC again that the Lupron didn't work and I still have Endo. So now I'm left with only 1 working ovary, Endo, my LP seems to be short now, etc.
I only did the Lupron to "preserve" my fertility until we were ready to TTC. I'm so scared that my left ovary (working) will get damaged, and then I won't ovulate at all anymore.
I'm in my 2ww of my 4th cycle since we started TTC right after the Lupron. So far, nothing. I've cut back on my caffeine a lot, still taking vitamins and now Prometrium. I'm what I'm doing works, but I doubt it.
Part of me wants to get another Lap just to get rid of what's there, but more scar tissue isn't good either. Good luck to you!!!
