Newborn exposure to staph infection at hospital???
My friend just came home today from South Nassau hopsital. She knows someone else who came in the day after her to give birth. Her friend called her today and told her that there is a baby in the nursery there who is now quarantined and on IV antibiotics because her mother apparently had a staph infection. She said this baby was in the nursery for a day with my friends baby. I told her to call her ped. tomorrow but she is freaking out.
Does anyone else have experience with this?

My son got a staph infection from the nursery at St. Catherine's. We just got a cream to put on it, no hospitalization required.

My son got a staph infection from St. Charles. We believe it entered through his circumcision site. He was on antibiotics at a week old
