newborn eye color, when does it stop changing?
DS was born with the most amazing gray blue eyes. Most of our family has brown eyes, mine are a bit more hazel in certain lights. My grandfathers, though, had light gray eyes.
So I'm just wondering, he's 7 weeks almost now, and his color hasn't changed since birth. When did you DC eye color stop at the color its at?

Re: newborn eye color, when does it stop changing?
DS has the bluest eyes and they haven't changed a bit yet - and he's 7 1/2 months! I asked the ped at his last appt & he said they usually change in the 1st 6m, but that it can take up to a year. He also said that since we hadn't seen any change at all yet, we may have a blue-eyed boy
There are blue eyes in my family, but they're rare. We both have hazel eyes & most of our families have brown eyes, so it's a little surprising when people first see him

DS's eyes changed from blue gray to green within 2 months, and then changed to brown after 6 months. I was really hoping he would keep his green eyes like his mommy.

My oldest DD's eyes changed from blue to green around 7-8 months old and then changed from green to brown around 1 1/2 years old.

My DD has beautiful light blue eyes. She's 7 months and have only gotten lighter since birth. DH & I both have dark brown hair & dark brown eyes. The only person she could have gotten them from, that we know of, is my Grandfather who's eyes are almost identical. It's amazing!

Re: newborn eye color, when does it stop changing?
I've heard they usually change by 2 years old.
DD had almost black eyes when she was born, they got lighter and lighter and seem to have settled at a light blue gray color (she'll be 3 in a few months).
DS is 5 months old and was born with blue eyes, they are still the same navy blue color. Not sure if they are going to stay that color.

DS was born with steel blue eyes and only got lighter. now at 6 months they are light blue. i hope they stay! i have green eyes and my DH has hazel so its possible.
ETA just found this article: changing eye color
"Permanent eye color is not set until a baby is at least nine months old, so wait until your child's first birthday to determine what color they will be."

Re: newborn eye color, when does it stop changing?
Both my DD's were born with dark blue/black eyes. Both now have blue gray. I have brown, DH has blue. My ped basically said if they haven't changed by 1 year they probably won't. I have heard of people going from blue to gray/green, but not blue to brown after one. I was also told once they lighten they probably won't change. I don't know anyone who had light eyes at birth though so I'm not sure how that changes things.

Re: newborn eye color, when does it stop changing?
DD1 was born with dark blueish eyes that lightened and now at 3 1/2 they are a blue gray.
DD2 was born with piercing blue eyes... way lighter than DD1 eyes every were... we thought for sure she was gonna be blue eyed baby... around 8 months they changed to hazel ish and now at 17 months she has these beautiful milk chocolate eyes.
I have blue, DH is light brown. I think they can easily change up until 2 years or so.

Re: newborn eye color, when does it stop changing?
DS was born with very dark, almost black eyes. They kept getting lighter and lighter blue, and now at 6 months his eye color is close to my blue, so I hope he'll keep them like his mama!

My DD's eyes finally stopped changing right before her second birthday. They were blue, then gray, then hazel, now brown.

Re: newborn eye color, when does it stop changing?
My DD had those steel-blue eyes until she was 7 months old...and then one day, BAM! They were brown!
DH has brown eyes and I have green, so I guess I lost the battle.

Re: newborn eye color, when does it stop changing?
my DH has blue/gray and I have hazel
My DD is 15 mo old and I feel like his eye color has changed in the last month! It was blue in the beginning and then went the whole gray route...which I was excited..but the gray has turned into a green/gray tone this last month! Just when I thought it was settled!
