Newborn pics question- is this weird?

I've been in talks with a photographer because I won a free session at a luncheon I recently attended. Never heard of the photog before I won. I told her I was due June 20th and was just contacting her to see what the process is. When she wrote me back she said it's done within 10 days of bringing DS home. Now this is what I thought was weird, but I could just be over paranoid because this is my 1st- she then mentioned that because its in June, if the weather is nice we will do the shoot outside......am I crazy for thinking that its not ok to be bringing a naked newborn outside for pics?

I would be a bit worried about sun exposure at that age as well.
You can't even use sunscreen on them at that age either!
Unless you are doing it under a covered deck or patio or something.

I would just tell her you aren't comfortable with the outside shots for that reason and leave it at that.

Doing a newborn shoot within the first days that the child is born is common & somewhat necessary to get those adorable shots.

The baby is still able to be posed. After that I believe their bodies resist being put into certain poses.

I would be uncertain about outdoor shoot as well. Mainly because of sun exposure. Unless like a pp stated its under a porch or such.

I don't think that's too weird. If you're not comfortable with it, then that's fine. ButI wouldprobably base it on the weather and not have the baby in the sun for too long.

I would definitely do it but make sure the time in direct sunlight is 10 minutes or less!
