newborn spit up question...

Isabella is a week and a half old and Sunday she spit up after one bottle and yesterday she did one time also. today she has 2 times and i mean a lot (like the whole bottle).

i have a call in to the dr but does this mean anything??? is it the formula or something????

and my other question is - is it normal for her to want to eat right away again???? she will start to scream and puts her hands in her mouth.

HELP...TIA.

It's possible that she ate too much. Their stomachs are very small. I know my son used to do this until I realized I was misreading his cries for hunger. What he wanted was to sleep.

The Baby Whisperer helped me tremedously. It gave the signs for sleep, hunger, etc.

Also as long as she is wetting diapers than I wouldn't bother the ped unless it's all of the time.

Re: newborn spit up question...

My son did that for the first 3 weeks all the time and boy was it scary. Now at 6 weeks it has defintely tapered off. I BF him so we figured out his problem is a slight case of reflux and he takes too much milk too quickly so his stomch and esophagus cant handle it. Maybe thats happening to your daughter. I hold him upright while feeding (more then normal) and hold him upright for 30 minutes after every feeding. So far its working. Hope this helps. Also ifher wet and soiled diapers are adequate I wouldnt worry.
