Nick Cannon: Mariah Carey and I Are Expecting Twins
It's official: Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are getting ready for baby love times two!
On his 92.3 Now radio show Thursday, Cannon confirmed that he and Carey are expecting twins.

"In order for my wife and I to have our life, we need to be up front and I need to be able to share things with you and be real," Cannon, 30, said.
"I didn't even tell my wife I was gonna do this," he admitted. "I'm probably gonna get yelled at for not getting permission...We are having twins!"

It gets even better, Cannon explained. The very first folks in the world to know about the twins other than Carey, 40, and her husband Cannon were President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama! After recently performing for the First Family for a White House Christmas special, Carey met with the Obamas backstage, Cannon said.

"They actually even questioned my wife about [the twins]," he said. "She hadn't told anybody anything! Because of the excitement and emotion, she shared [the news] with the President and the First Lady."
The dad-to-be gushed that it will be an "awesome story" to tell their twins one day. Why the secrecy? "That was something that we were advised to keep close to ourselves," Cannon revealed.
PHOTOS: Adorable A-list babies
Carey had an ultrasound on Wednesday night, Cannon added. "Everything is A-OK! Both babies are healthy and in tip-top shape. The doctors are happy."

I find it hard to believe that the Obamas asked them if it was twins, they seem to have better manners than that.

aww...
there was something I read on here, or maybe aol..dont remember.. where she referred to the babies as "them" in an interivew and then quickly covered it up..LOL.

While I am happy for them, I don't think she is being honest about her fertility issues. As one who struggled to get pregnant, what a voice she could have about infertility and its struggles! It is a missed opportunity!

I don't think that's something she would want to talk about, it's kinda private.
Whether she wants to keep it private or not, shewill be asked if they are 'spontaneous' twins or IVF. I had my twins at age 36 and had sonos and dr. appointments every 3 weeks. Every single time the technician or nurse would ask, it's a routine thing.

That makes sense after I saw the recent pics of her in various holiday dresses and saw she is due in Spring. I thought she was very big for 6 months.

I had fertility issues as well and I strongly disagree. If they did have issues, they are private and they don't owe anything to anyone. I don't believe celebs need to become spokespeople. Lord knows I wanted to get PG without assistance. Imagine every step you take being in front of a camera - I can't begin to think about a celeb going to an RE's office. Ive been as many as 5 times in a week.

I see what you are saying, but I am not suggesting that her appts be video taped, but that she could speak up about her struggle...Infertility is such a taboo topic for many people and it would be so great to have people in the limelight to bring more support to the issue.
I cycled with a famous person and I never blew her cover. I respected her right to privacy!

I totally agree to Goldi... Just b/c famous people might have fertility issues, doesn't mean they need to be open about them... its hard enough just getting a private second in their life...

I agree as well.
On the flip side, someone going through infertility, pregnant with twins & throwing out that twins run in their family etc. is disingenious...not that Mariah is saying that.
I think she should respond that it's none of our business & conception is a private thing...but I also think Nick will blow it. He strikes me as a guy that shares everything versus her who values privacy more.

I am feeling the same way. She out right denied fertility treatment. Really gets to me when it is denied.

Denying it may not be right.
Once I posted it here on LIF, the world had access to that knowledge. I am sure the paparazzi tapes her every move which makes me wonder if she had issues, how she was able to get to an RE and stay under the radar.
I am eternally grateful for the miracles of modern science and medicine and for my two healthy children. HOWEVER the hardest thing about having IF issues, was losing the intimacy of natural conception. She and any other celeb (or anyone else who may have had IF issues for that matter) deals with that pain as well and does not have to share that with the free world.
