Nikon d40 owners...can you help?
I really want this camera for Christmas but when I research it online, I am coming up with a million different prices!
Where did you all get the best price for yours? TIA!

Well, we know someone from PC Richards so we got ours for $479.00.
Be careful with those online places. They will sell you a camera with a 10 minute battery so you'll have to upgrade and most of the cameras are in chinese!!

I bought mine from Amazon.com -- no tax, free shipping, and no worries that they weren't legit. The price is $479 also, and you get a free Shutterfly calendar. Some of the small camera shops online made me nervous!

I don't have it but I get all of my camera equipment from B&H Photo link. They generally have the best prices.
When you get it, make sure you know what you're getting with it. For example at B&H:
For $479.95 D40 that includes: • 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens with Front & Rear Lens Caps • Front & Rear Lens Caps • EN-EL9 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery • MH-23 Quick Charger • UC-E4 USB Cable • Camera Strap • BF-1A Body Cap • DK-5 Eyepiece Cap • BS-1 Accessory Shoe Cap • DK-16 Rubber Eyecup • PictureProject Software CD-ROM • User Manual • 1-Year Nikon U.S.A. Limited Warranty
$679.95 is the same stuff as above but with a 18-135mm DX Lens
