Re: NIKON SCHOOL..those attended..
The session I attended (last Saturday) was sold out. One of the hotel employees said he thought there were 190 people there. It was set up lecture-style. Just rows & rows of chairs, small stage up front with the 2 presenters, and a HUGE screen to follow-along with their slideshow presentation (they also sent class notes prior to the class, but I didn’t follow along during the class b/c I took separate notes, as most others did).
With these 2 presenters, you were not allowed to ask questions during their presentations…they stated that fact (and in the 2nd half someone raised their hand to ask a question and were told “we don’t answer questions during the lecture)...makes sense since they had SO MUCH info to get through as it was, w/o stopping for questions. You could go up to them during the breaks (there was a morning break, then lunch, then an afternoon break I think), but there were a ton of people up there trying to speak to them, and breaks were only 15 minutes I think, so I'm sure they weren't able to speak with everyone up there.
I didn’t see anyone take out their camera (if they brought it) during the presentation at all…too busy paying attention/taking notes.
As I said, it was a slideshow presentation that they commented on each slide…no live demos of anything except some computer editing software at the very end. Neither instructor ever held a camera. It was a very fast-paced class..obviously soooo much can be done with SLRs that they tried to touch on a lot of the basics, but only the basics of each basics, KWIM?
It was a great class, very well planned & executed, the instructors were both fantastic. WAY over my head, but I expected that

yeap, everything she said.
there was ALOT of material covered, its definitely not a questions welcomed type of workshop (except for those breaks mentioned above) lecture style all the way.
