Nintendo Wii... has anyone purchased one lately?
DH and I cannot find them anywhere! I called a million stores and no where is carrying them. Did anyone buy one recently, maybe sometime this week?

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like ppl on craigslist jacked up the price. Is it really gone in all the stores? I can't believe how popular it is!

I believe Best Buy gets a shipment of them every Tuesday. I'm sure they sell out in minutes though. They are so hard to come by right now!

that is annoying...we got one for 300 bucks and it came with Guitar Hero and one other game so we got a great deal

well my brother got one recently at kmart in staten island hes from suffolk..he had to call around.sometimes they get shipments on certain days. ask them when they are getting them in. he had a hardtime getting one because it was around christmas

before the holidays i went to best buy with my Dad and he purchased one. there was a bunch there and it was a saturday afternoon (you think they'd be sold out by then). i'd try some local best buys

Nope. Best Buys are all sold out. Apparently, a "seperate truck brings them, and they do not know when it comes." (To quote an associate at Westbury)!!!

I looked it up, and it seems that you would have to buy a separate adapter like thing.

my dad works part time (for fun??!?!?!) at the Best Buy in Bayshore - i'll give him a call in a bit (he was at work yesterday). I can ask if he got any in!

they are hard to find! a friend picked one up for us at best buy in NJ super early on a sunday morning. i think at midnight on saturdays/sundays they post their sunday ads online. he saw they had them advertised, so he got there right when they opened. they had a whole pallet full.( he was also looking for a Wii Fit for his parents).
he also randomly got us a Wii Fit, too! he went to target for something else, and just asked about Wii Fit while he was there. the person working told him they were out-- BUT a lady shopping just happened to hear him and said " i just returned mine- its probably still up at the return desk" LOL so he booked it up there and got it!

They are CAPABLE of playing DVDs, but that feature is not enabled. (I believe it has something to do with licensing fees Nintendo doesn't want to pay -- and they're selling plenty of Wiis without them!) You CAN hack into your Wii to download a patch that allows you to play DVDs. It's not exactly legal as far as I can see, but it's possible. Also, if you then try to do an Internet upgrade for your Wii, it checks for unauthorized components. If it detects any, it renders your Wii inoperable...
