Re: Nissan Murano

I looked at one recently to trade in my Xterra - it was really nice, but the gas milage isn't as good as I wanted it to be (only 21 MPG)

I love the Murano, but it didn't look like it had much trunk room. I could be wrong, but it looked small from the outside.

Re: Nissan Murano

It's so popular right now, I know 3 people who recently got this car... they ALL love it. I rode in the back seat of one last week and it was roomy.

Re: Nissan Murano

I love it, but you may want to hold off. One of the salesman at Nissan told me that they are changing the body style for 2009. They are not making 2008.

That's actually my biggest issue with them is the popularity. I don't want to be just another Murano owner.

I know, I'm weird.

Re: Nissan Murano

I test drove it and loved the way it drove. It was just out of my price range, otherwise, it was my first choice.

I almost bought one, but decided to buy another car. They are really popular, but I still like them.

I have a 2006 and love it. Have had no problems with it. Do wish it did get better gas mileage though I think it's better than a lot of other SUVs.

Re: Nissan Murano

I have a friend with an Infinity FX35 and they are almost the same truck. It is awesome and he would definately recommend it. I have an old co worker that has the Murano and he loves it. I would suggest test driving trhe ford edge. I have a friend with one of those and he loves it and I know a few people on the boards either have them or have been eyeing them.

Re: Nissan Murano

I love the Murano. When we were looking, that's what I wanted, but my husband wasn't a fan of it. He thought it was a little too small and didn't like that it required premium fuel (this was in 05, not sure if this is still the case). Also, there was an issue with the alternator and after many complaints from Murano owners, Nissan finally recalled it and fixed the problem. My husband wasn't happy with how Nissan handled the recall and he doesn't feel they are up to par with Toyota and Honda.

My only issues with the car was that I wasn't crazy about the deep dashboard and the angle of the windshield, also I felt like the overall design produced some serious blind spots.

We test drove the SE and I thought it was really fun to drive and I love how it looks! Next year we will be in the market for another car, and I will definitely check into the Murano again.

Re: Nissan Murano

great car and DH and i were considering it also when we were on the hunt for a new car. but we went with the Mazda CX-7 instead. virtually the same body shape and interior room, but i got the CX-7 fully loaded with AWD for the same price as i would've gotten the Murano with nothing in it except a CD player. i love my CX-7! definitely check it out to compare. i'm soooo glad we did!

Re: Nissan Murano

We have a 2007 and love it. It is definitely plenty roomy in the back for baby carriag, and everthing else you'll need. I think we average about 18MPG which isn't great but all in all, that's about average for a decent sized SUV.

The ride is ultra smooth and the backup camera is a wonderful addition. The navigation system is useful, but wish they had styled it (NAV system) more like the FX35. The NAV system is also a bit slow when inputting a destination.

Nissan recommends premium fuel but the salesman said regular is fine so that's what we've been putting in without any problems. The manual also says 87 octane is the minimum which is fine by me.

All in all, I highly recommend this car.
