If you had to choose would you rather a Toyota Camry or a Nissan Altima and why?
I am now very torn about which car to get. Which ever we got we be a new car and we would be leasing it. I feel like I cannot trust these websites that review cars so I wanted to get opinions on LIF. Thank you all for your help...I really appreciate it!

Altima - they are sportier IMO.
ETA: I have had toyotas and nissans and they were both great. My decison was purely based on looks.

It depends on what you like/and or need. The Camry is roomier- we own it and love it- the Altima, which I used to have is sportier. It was a great car too. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Altima....nissans are awesome. I have a maxima and wouldn't trade it for anything. Never had a problem with it and it is very sporty and roomy in the back.

i have test driven both - in the 4 cyl and v6 models. I liked the camry MUCH better!! my DH didn't like that you can't tell what gear you're in with the Altima, it doesn't shift. some people may like that, he didn't.
I think the camry drove and handled better, and I also prefer the way it looks.
JMO
eta: the fit & finish on the camry I also think is better

Re: If you had to choose would you rather a Toyota Camry or a Nissan Altima and why?
my sister has had her altima for about 6 years without a problem and has been very happy with it. i have had a nissan for about 2 1/2 years and already swore i will never get another - for the fact that dealing with nissan makes me want to slit throats and i'm not the only person that feels that way. my best friend's hubby has had a camry for a few years now and loves it, plus they are very good on mileage. sorry i'm no help lol

The lease on my 2005 Altima is just about up. I have been seriously considering another Altima but also the Camry.
I testdrove the Camry today. I was not impressed with the car or the dealer.
Decision Made....I'm definitely going for the Altima.

Re: If you had to choose would you rather a Toyota Camry or a Nissan Altima and why?
i haven't driven the camry, but we recently rented the 07 altima for a trip from fl to ny...gas was good, about 29 mi per gallon at 72 average miles per hour...but the seats were very uncomfortable...especially on the long trip. we took a break during our trip and then drove to/from vermont - 3 hrs to ny...still uncomfortable.
if u can rent the cars for the weekend, then i think it may help ur decision...

Camry hands down. Motor Trend car of the year for a reason. I never had an Altima but I have test driven it before. We ended up with the Accord again, but I am a Honda fan first.
The Camry looks a lot like the Lexus this year.

Re: If you had to choose would you rather a Toyota Camry or a Nissan Altima and why?
i have an 06 altima and LOVE it! the newer models have bluetooth, keyless entry (you dont need keys, you just push a button on the car door and it opens and you dont need keys to start the car, you just turn a little dial. you keep the keys in your bag and it finds the signal it emits), and the newer models also come in hybrid!
go to the nissan dealership in hempstead on franklin ave. i was able to hustle the hell out of the salesman there!

Re: If you had to choose would you rather a Toyota Camry or a Nissan Altima and why?
I have a '06 Camry, I love it and have had ZERO issues with it and love it.
I come from a Toyota family. They are awesome on gas. My dad had a 1990 Corolla that went almost 275,000 miles (I drove it cross country in 2001) and would have kept going if he didn't get hit from behind and have it totalled last year.
My DH has a '96 Toyota Corolla that is on mile 192,000+ and never has given us a major problem...knock wood....
On the other hand...My sister (kdelace) leased an Altima for 3 years, I think she really liked it...

I have an Altima, DH has a Camry, we both love them. I guess it depends on what size car you want, Altima is a bit smaller.

Re: If you had to choose would you rather a Toyota Camry or a Nissan Altima and why?
My mother is currently driving a Nissan and she hates it so much she's trying to get out of her lease early. It's only been a year that she's had the car, but she's done with it. Based on that, since I've never had a Nissan personally, I'd have to say go with the Toyota - they have a great reputation!

Altima, I had 2 back to back Nissians and had no problems. Anything that I was unsure about or any problems where always covered. My girlfirend has over 100,000 miles on her altima and she has never had any problems.

go to the nissan dealership in hempstead on franklin ave. i was able to hustle the hell out of the salesman there! that push button start is only available on the V6 loaded models. I believe the price of those cars was in the high 20's. that push button feature is also available on the Camry XLE, also in the high 20's.
