My basement is always cool in the summer and in the winter, it's nice and toasty like the rest of the house.

We just put central air in our new house but didn't bother putting it in our finished basement, because even on the hottest day its cool. Plus they say the central air will flow down naturally. We have a wood burning stove down there for the winter.

We don;t have any AC, but our basement stays pretty cool. We do have a dehumidifier running so it helps take the humidity outy of the air. We have baseboard in our basement, so in the winter the basement is pretty warm. We just finished redoing our basement so we added the basebaord. There was no heat when down there when we bought the house.

We put a central a/c in the basement but the previous owners used it as a family room w/o air conditioning and they said is was always fine.

same with my parent's basement. I would say that in the summer, it's at least 10-15 degrees cooler than the rest of the house.
