No-kill animal shelters
A co-workers neighbor had a pregnant stray cat that she began feeding. She had 5 kittens and the neighbor is not willing to keep them. I believe she has found owners for 2 of them, but asked me or my MIL to take the others. We cannot do it, so I am looking up no-kill shelters on Long Island. Here's what I have- please add more if you know any that I haven't listed.
Bideawee Little Shelter Animal Rescue Freeport Animal Shelter Northshore Animal League Kent Animal Shelter Save-a-Pet Grateful Paw Cat Shelter Valley Stream Cat Rescue

Re: No-kill animal shelters
I am not sure if it is on LI maybe Queens- Animals can't talk, or Last Hope, try calling PetSmart or Petco, they have ladies who come in with Adoptable cats so they might be able to lead you the right way. ETA try calling the local veterinarians in the area, they might be able to help too.

Re: No-kill animal shelters
Grateful paw is wonderful. I hate to say this but they should just leave them in a box there. This time of year they are really full and they will only take them if they are forced to. They are so terrific finding homes and taking care of them. The mother must also be trapped, fixed, and re-released otherwise this problem will keeping happening over and over again.

Please have her spay the cat asap. They can get pregnant again so fast. LICP is a great organization that canoffer assistance. http://animalallianceli.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=32
