No nap = Earlier bedtime?
Alyson refused to nap today...I tried for 1 1/2 hrs.
Should I try to put her to bed early tonight?

Re: No nap = Earlier bedtime?
My DD at 10 months skips her afternoon nap once in a while (she always takes a morning nap).
When she skips the afternoon nap she shows signs of being tired about 1.5 hours earlier than usual so that is when I put her to bed. She usually sleep later the next morning too.
Earlier this week she actually fell asleep in her high chair while having her dinner.

Re: No nap = Earlier bedtime?
DD is 3...she's at the stage where now on weekends she doesn't always take a nap during the day either b/c we are doing stuff or b/c she refuses.
She'll be exhausted by 6:00 and get really cranky and will fall asleep for like 10 minutes or so (power nap) and then be up until 10 at night..ughhhhh
and then she will be up at the crack of dawn!
Very frustrating!
You can try putting her to bed earlier, and hopefully she won't think that this is just nap time and get up in a few hours and want to play all night long

Re: No nap = Earlier bedtime?
When DD skips a nap, she usually falls asleep during dinner in the high chair If she stays awake, I keep her up until regular bedtime. If I try earlier, she ends up falling asleep even later.

Re: No nap = Earlier bedtime?
DD refused to nap today as well. I will put her to bed a little earlier maybe 1/2 hr. , but thats it. Unless she is unbearably cranky.

Re: No nap = Earlier bedtime?
I just try and stick with the routine of bedtime if she didnt nap.. b/c then shell get off schedule for other days. If shes really crankie by the time bedtime is, then i will let her go down a little earlier.

Not in our house.
Ali hasn't napped at all in months - except when she was sick
She still goes to bed pretty much the same time, maybe 1/2 hour earlier

Re: No nap = Earlier bedtime?
If DD doesnt nap I just put her to bed about an hour early. She usually ends up falling asleep in about 5 minutes in that case!

When my son doesnt nap, he is usually falling asleep by around 6pm, which is 2 hours earlier than his normal bedtime.
