Non Birthday party invite.
DD was invited to a halloween party for a friend of hers next week. As its not a birthday party I wasn't sure what to get for the little girl whose mom is hosting the party...I dont want to show up with nothing.

Non Birthday party invite.
I wouldn't bring anything. We host a Halloween party each year, and no one ever brings a gift (nor should they)

Box of cookies, brownies, wine for the mom, maybe make some cookies I would not go empty handed. We have been to parties that were non birthday kid parties. A few people brought the mom wine, some baked, one brought the mom flowers. Just a little something as a thankyou for the invitation. You do not need to bring the kid a gift.

I would ask the mom before bringing food. I'm sure she had a menu and might not be pleased with extra stuff.
I'm not always happy when people bring dessert without asking first.

I agree with this. If I have to worry about putting out the cupcakes you bought, after I just spent two hours on mine, I'm going to be annoyed
