nook question - WiFi

I am looking at the specs on the the Nook.
below is what they are showing:
Connects via Wi-Fi

Free at all AT&T hotspots and Barnes & Noble stores

or

Connects anywhere via FREE 3G plus Wi-Fi

Free at all AT&T hotspots and Barnes & Noble stores


now can you please tell me, can you search the web (NYPL or another site to get books or even LIF and facebook) or can you only access barnes and noble .com

You can access any website, but note the browser isn't very advanced. I know gmail-mobile works. Havent tried any other sites.

BTW, you need to physically connect your Nook to a computer in order to transfer library books. While you do download the books off of the internet, you download to a computer and use a program to authorize them and then transfer to your nook via USB cable. You can't go library direct to Nook.

If you BUY a book from B&N it automatically d/l to your Nook. But free library books or books you purchase from other sources besides B&N you need to sideload via USB. For it being free, its worth the extra 2 minutes of effort.
