Question for those with an eat in kitchen/nook
If you have a table in the same area as your kitchen cabinets are the colors very similar in terms of matching or are they contrasting?
Our cabinets are going to be a butterscotch color and I am having a hard time finding a dinette that is simiilar in color.

we have maple cabinets and a cherry table
we had the table before we bought the house
i don't think its necessary to match perfectly as long as they compliment...and most had a bit of space between them (cabinet and table)

I wouldn't try to match it exactly. I think it would better to get something that compliments it.

Our dinette set is close to the color of the cabinets (oak) but I don't think it has to.

Yea I'm pretty anal too.
Our counter top is black and brown with black appliances. So I was thinking of a black dinnette.

*if* we get the house we put an offer on the cabinetry would be white and our countertop would probably be something like giallo ornamental or new venetian gold granite....i like this table...i like the dark top b/c i'd like to do oil rubbed bronze hardware and dark wood chairs for the breakfast bar - i'm thinking the dark table top would tie in with the chairs at the bar and with the hardware and specs in the granite....i'm not sure if i like the chairs though - i want to do all matching chairs with the table and breakfast bar....
i dont think the table has to match exactly - but i think it has to match the style of the kitchen and compliment the other elements in your kitchen.... Image Attachment(s):
