Love my Kindle Fire. If you're looking for a lot of content (movies, shows, books, apps) then I would absolutely go with the Kindle Fire. The reviews were actually better for the Kindle Fire, the biggest knock on the Nook tablet was the lack of content. Nook just doesn't have as much to offer.
Some people like the Nook because you can expand the storage which you can't do with the Fire but because Amazon offer the "cloud storage" that really wasn't a concern for me.

I have a nook and a kindle fire and I absolutely love the Kindle Fire - It is cheaper than the Nook too
