North NJ Girls-- 3D/4D Sono??
I know people have told me where they went before-- but, I am too lazy to search... where did you guys go?
I am thinking of forgoing a gift exchange with DH and doing this instead.
Every time we get a sono, the baby looks like either an alien or Skeletor and I am getting worried! Well, not really but I would like to be able to have a sono and actually *see* something.
What weeks are the best to go? I am 31w now.
Also, can they tell you how big the baby is measuring?

Re: North NJ Girls-- 3D/4D Sono??
We just had this done 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately there are not too many places in NJ. There is a place in paramus, they won't do it without a note from your doctor. There's also a place that has an office in the city which might be more convienent for you, Envision Ultrasound - They also have an office in Westfield. They had strange hours so it wasn't convienent for us. We ended up going to this place in North Brunswick.
ETA: They told us 31 weeks is still okay, but the best time is reallyl around 28 weeks since the baby still has room.
I don't think they will tell you the baby's measurements as they may consider that "diagnostic" and these sono places don't do diagnostic sono's.

thanks...
Looking at their site now-- The 2D is the reg sono right?? So you need the 3d/4d one...
Yeah, I don't want to deal with getting a note from the doc.

Re: North NJ Girls-- 3D/4D Sono??
yes, the 2D is what a normal sono is. They start out with a 2D sono so they can get a good position on the baby, then they switch it over to 3D. We really liked the place in North Brunswick (View a Miracle), their hours for us were the most convienent. It really was a cool experience.
However, little did we know that when we went for my growth sono 4 days later, the sono tech was going to give us some 3D images as well! We could have saved all that $$ had we known!

Re: North NJ Girls-- 3D/4D Sono??
Sorry to crash...but DH and I did this as our gift to each other last year during the holidays. I was about 33 weeks. We also felt like every time we saw the baby we never got a full view. It was awesome and a perfect gift to both of us.

I have other issues that warrent more sono's in my 3rd trimester. I'm sure they could tell how big the baby is, but I don't think they are "allowed" to tell you since they are not Drs. Even at my growth sono, all I got was a "baby looks good" I'm going to ask my Dr. when I see her on Monday.
