Nosey Spinoff:Ok, so I'm just curious, as usual...
but for those of you who answered on the Stay at home thread that your husbands told you you can stay home, did you mean you and hubby decided together, or that your husband just decided that on his own? I'm just curious.

I think your situation is very different- I would give up my career for the time being also in your situation- I think you made the best decision!

I meant my husband assumed I was going to stay home even though I said I was going back to work after I had the baby. He offered it up as an option and I turned it down.

together....we both said in the early stages of our relationship that being home for the kids is a major factor. Now, when they are in school, working PT is an option as well.

Just for clarification, I am totally not looking for anyone to justify why they stay home or why they want to stay home! Us ladies do what's right for our families
I was just curious as to those whom actually answered the other thread with "my husband told me I can." I'm just nosey. I can't help it

We decided together. We both knew before we were married that we would like for me to be a SAHM, and so we had been saving for a long time toward that.

Didn't reply to that site, but we decided together. It was whoever made the most stayed working. He beat me by 20k I am honored to be home with my daughter.

Dh said I could if I would like but I decided that's not me. Maybe down the road I'll change my mind, who knows. We have made decisions together that would make that financially possible, such as getting a smaller house than we could have and buying more affordable cars vice nicer ones.

We had discussed it early in our relationship and we both agreed that it would be best if I stayed home and raised the kids.
When I did mention possibly going ahead with a career in law enforcement and not being a SAHM, let's just say DH wasn't thrilled with that idea.

we always knew that once we started a family,it was very important for us personally to be home w/our children. Its how we were both raised,and what we both wanted.

I have always wanted to stay home when i have kids and my husband knew that even before we started dating (we already knew eachother very well). We are very fortunate and there wont be any financial concerns with me staying home so it's just not an issue. I do make very good money now though so I will continue to work until I am either pregnant or we have a baby.

We both decided very early on in our relationship that this is something we both wanted.
If I changed my mind and said I wanted to go work.... I don't think DH would be happy about it, but he would support it.
