Not 1 but BOTH tubes are blocked...
After an upsetting but otherwise quite easy Dye test the Dr. found that BOTH tubes are blocked. I brought home lovely souvenir pics to prove it. Next step would be the Lap but my big question is I dont' know if I should return to my regular OB that has decades of experience or continue with the reproductive specialist that is currently on vacation but has head of office attending her cases??? I guess I'm better now that I know I have answers and did this test sooner rather than later. MY journey is just still far from over
I should add that they believe that the blockage is attributed to my appendicitis 18 months ago. Now I can be a member of that club too because apparantly its a bit common

so sorry! At least you know how to proceed. I would go with the specialist unless your original doctor has experience with this.

Re: Not 1 but BOTH tubes are blocked...
Does your regular obgyn do laps regularly? Mine does so he did mine. They had me TTC naturally for 3 months, but when I wasn't pregnant, I moved on to the RE. Mine was blocked from endo though.

Re: Not 1 but BOTH tubes are blocked...
Thanks so much girls! This is really the only place that I KNOW you understand how I feel. My Reg OB really thought I would get pregnant on my own (as i had before) and wanted me to wait another 3 months because the test was so invasive. When I went to the specialist, she wanted me to do the dye test right away because she knew the appendix was right in the area of the tubes. My husband convinced me to wait an extra month because he really thought there wasn't a problem - (so naive bless his heart). Anyhow, I have an appt with the head of practice specialist because it was the first I could get. I know not too many people on here luv Reprodutive specialists of LI office. I'm so confused!

Re: Not 1 but BOTH tubes are blocked...
this is just the beginning but atleast you have something to start with and not just TTC naturally not knowing....i had a lap for a different reason thru my regular OB but i also wasnt seeing an RE at that time. i think you should stick with the RE for the surgery and further care...good luck!

Re: Not 1 but BOTH tubes are blocked...
first of all
the bright side of this is that you have your answer! and the problem is fixable!!! If not by opening tubes, then IVF.
