Not really sure where this belongs- Has anyone who had a MC ever get PG before they got AF again?

Hey there,
I did...I had a m/c at 5 weeks and then weeks passed and I never got AF. I took a pg test and it came back as positive. My doc brought me in to do a transvaginal sono and lo and behold we had a heartbeat. I was warned however that because I hadn't waited a full cycle, I did have a higher rate for m/c again. And at 10 weeks I m/c'd that pg.
After that, I made sure I waited at least one full cycle to start trying again, and got pg with DD about 8 months later.

I was just talking to my neighbor the same thing happend as the pp...she wasn't even trying.
So if it happens before a full cycle there is a higher chance of m/c?

NO THERE IS NOT. Many doctors believe there is, because it is an antiquated perspective from decades ago, but truthfully there is absolutely no statistical evidence to show that your chances of having another miscarriage increase if you don't wait a full cycle. And I'm living proof.
5 years ago I got pregnant. I miscarried around 8 weeks, naturally. At my two week follow-up with my ob/gyn he told me to wait 2-3 cycles - little did he or I know that at that very moment I was already pregnant again.
When I got my BFP, I FREAKED - when I saw him he reassured me that doctors recommend you wait because it's really just an old way of thinking, and they want to make sure you are "mentally" ready - as long as there were no complications with your m/c and it was fairly early on there is very little risk to conceiving again so quickly, other than the paranoia and fear that will live with you for the entire first trimester, and the difficulty in dating the pregnancy.
My pregnancy was perfectly healthy, and other than delivering a collicky, spirited, very stubborn little monkey, I had no issues!  In fact, I have a very good friend who is now 14 weeks who got pregnant that way as well, and for her it was incredible because it took over a year to conceive - she miscarried at 13 weeks, had a very complicated D&C, and amazingly enough, conceived about 10 days later again, and so far her pregnancy has been very healthy.

Cant speak for whether there is a higher risk of MC, but I got PG before getting AF and miscarried before I even hit 5 weeks. Personally, I'd wait a full cycle (and actually chose to wait 2 after my 2nd MC).

I miscarried January 23rd 2008 and got another BFP Feb 17th 2008...DS was born 10/24/08 I never got my period after my miscarriage. I miscarried naturally at around 7 weeks, was told to wait three months to try again...oh welll....

Me!! When i got PG with my first son i had MC the month before. never got AF. I mc early on around 5 1/2 weeks, naturally. So i didnt wait to TTC again. Now he is going to be 2 in a few weeks
