Not sure where to post this - stretch marks related WWYD
So I'm not sure if this belongs on Parenting, Fashion or Dieting but since it all began with DS, I chose this board.
I got pretty bad stretch marks while I was PG but I never really cared that much because I didnt exactly have the greatest figure to show off anyway.
But since last August I have done Weight Watchers with amazing results (if I do say so myself) and I find myself looking at bikinis again after a good 15 years of pretending they didnt exist.
Anyway... I'm curious what others would do? If you were comfortable enough with your body shape/weight to wear a bikini, would you let stetch marks stop you?

First off contrats on your awesome results!!!!! I hope to be stuck with such a decision if not this summer next summer Personally, I would opt more for a sexy one piece or even a tankini to show off my "new" shape rather than a bikini because I would still be self conscious with the stretch marks. However if I saw someone with a nice body and stretch marks wearing a bikini I probably wouldnt even notice, its more my insecurity than anything else.

I think it would depend on how visible they are. Im sort of in the same boat (losing weight for summer) but my stomach is fine. I do have a few on my hips and thighs that at least this year (my first summer PP) I would like to cover since they are still pink. I found this bathing suit at Nordstoms and Im in love. For me, its sexy and covers all the right places.
Sorry pics so big.
What about a monokini? Something like this.

I have white stretch marks on my hips and butt, since I'm a teenager . I'm so self conscious ( i HATEThem) but still wear a bikini bc you can see them no matter what I wear. If I had them on my stomach I would not wear a bikini. I love the black swimsuit above though, great suggestion

I have read you can use professional make up, like Dermablend, to cover up the appearance of stretch marks and it is waterproof. Something to consider.

I have a similar problem. My stomach is actually FLATTER in a bikini than it looks in some outfits like certain dresses. I would DEFINITELY wear a bikini except. . .
around my belly button, the skin is ALL stretched out, its basically the half inch between my old piercing scar and my belly button -it is wrinkly and saggy and because of that, I am looking for some sexy tankinis! No bikinis here. . . stinks but I wouldnt be comfortable and there is nothing LESS sexy than someone who is uncomfortable in their own skin.

Thanks ladies! That black bathing suit is gorgeous! Its just so strange that last year I was trying on Spanx bathing suits and this year I'm thinking of bikinis and my stomach is NO 6 pack or anything but I have a good self esteem now. I will be looking into the sexy 1 pieces though.

Congrats!! I don't have any on my stomach, but I do have a lot on my hips from a growth spurt as a teenager. Since i've had them so long time I don't let them bother me or stop me from wearing a bikini, although I don't wear string bikinis, I usually wear bottoms that have more coverage over my hips.
I love those one pieces that PP's posted, that's a great option. But if you feel comfortable wearing a bikini go for it! Everyone always tells me I make mine out to be so much worse than they actually are, so i'm sure it's the same for you.

I love this suit!!! Those that ordered...do they run true to size??
Congrats to you!! I have really bad stretch marks on my stomach from DS and I just feel very uncomfortable showing my stomach now. This summer I plan on wearing tankinis and monokinis. I think it just depends on your comfort level.
