NPR: Car/Vacation question..
So, we are leaving in a week to Captiva Island for Chris' family reunion (23 people in 1 house!). We are flying direct from Islip to Fort Myer's (the closest airport) and we thought we were going to have to rent a car, which with taxes and fees AND a coupon was going to run us $214! Not counting gas..
Soo...my parents bought a guidebook and we were pursing through it and it it says you can take a cab for $35 each way And DH and I were even saying, if it was $50 each way or even a bit more, we'd STILL be saving money...
So, would you do that? I am thinking I will keep the car ressie just in case (since they don't require a cc on it) and try the cab route, would you?
(DH's mom will be there with her car, as well as 6 other cars...MIL said we could come with them on our night out to dinner, etc.)

When we went to captiva island..we took cabs from the airport in Ft.Myers to the ferry. I would definately do that, I dont remember how much but $50 or less sounds about right. I do remember having to make a reservation though for both ways in advance. Im sure if you do that..they will give you the exact price. I think we had to put it on a CC.
ETA: I love it there..one of the best vacations DH and I ever took. We rented a house with a lot of family too, but its beuatiful. Its paradise!
