nursery opinions...please come in!! ****updated with a pic!!

So weve FINALLY started Chat Icon nursery...what we decided on took FOREVER and i changed my mind 4 gallons of paint times lolll

anyway, we did the wall that the crib will be on deep rasberry...with 10 inch vertical stripes of the same color, but switched between high gloss and flat enamel...it looks INSANELY BEAUTIFUL im very excited!!

so, the plan was to do the other 3 walls in solid ivory...the color is actually called "PINK DAMASK" which looks ivory with a pink undertone..(my husband calls it white lol)
so thats the issue..
he thinks its too plain, too white and will look dumb against the white molding for the windows, closet, and door...etc...
Im only having second thoughts on the "pink damask" because my furniture is ivory and we all know how crappy it could look if you have two different color whites...one will always just look dirty...

anyway i have a gallon of pale lemon, a gallon of very pale pink, and this pink damask....

which should i use?!?!
sorry so long!! thank you if youre still with me lol

Re: nursery opinions...please come in!!

did you try putting a primer (sp?) with a pink undertone under the reg. color paint? This what the paint guy at the paint store told me to do, he said it will bring out the pink in the main color coat better than if you used plain white primer.

Re: nursery opinions...please come in!!

Well its hard to say without being there but I would venture to guess that the raspberry wall would bring out the pink undertones of the damask color and it would appear much less "white." so maybe you can test it on one wall?

If not and you want to be "different" I would use the lemon. Otherwise the pale pink - all depends on what you look you are going for!

Re: nursery opinions...please come in!!

Hmmmm - Do you have a pic of the rasberry wall?

What if you take the 'pink damask' back to the paint store and ask if they can make it a little bit deeper for more of a contrast

Re: nursery opinions...please come in!!

i do have a pic of it, but im on my DH'S laptop and i have no clue how to upload it here lol...ill try and post it later...

its called silk ribbon, by behrs paint...it looks much darker "purpley-er" on the site though lol...its definately more of a rasberry up on the wall...

i definatly shouldve posted this first, because i wouldve used a tinted primer Chat Icon we already primed it in regular primer...
youre right tho, i am gonna put it on the wall and try it, i think my DH is slightly crazy and its not gonna look white next to the rasberry...
lemme go do that..
thank you!!

Re: nursery opinions...please come in!!

i think that with the rasberry wall, it will bring out the pink in the other walls.

Re: nursery opinions...please come in!!

First-with colors like raspberry and lemon, this room sounds delicious.

I like the idea of bring another color in, especially since you have white furniture. I would probably go with the lemon.

Re: nursery opinions...please come in!!

ok, i just did lil samples on the blank wall...the "pink damask" i hate to admit to my DH is definately ivory, and although i think its beautiful, it doesnt look pink AT ALL...im gonna try and take cell phone pics, its my only option for getting anything online right now lol brb
im thinkin i like the lemon

ok, actually i went back after the paint dried, and the "damask" DOES have a TINY pink tone

ughhhh im so confused what do you guys think?@

Me too....I like that the best because then it's not hard core pink overkill in the room but it balances the rasberry and "completes" the whole color scheme better I think.

Re: nursery opinions...please come in!! ****updated with a pic!!

When we painted our nursery, we did a pale green over a dark green and DH kept asking if I accidentally opened the "trim" paint instead of the wall paint because it looked almost white. Once the entire room was done, you could definitely see the color. Sometimes looking at a pale color next to dark makes it look white, when in reality it isn't.

I really love the Damask. I think your nursery will be stunning!
