Nursery Themes
DH and I spent about 3 hours in BBB on Sunday, we started our registry and tried to come up with nursery ideas for baby boy. We think we are set on teddy bears. DH saw this one bear display and fell in love! What is everyone else doing for themes/decor?

We want to do something neutral, cozy, warm and comfortable. I th ink we are leaning towards being team green. Pottery Barn Kids had some cute neutral nurseries. I kind of love Sweet Lambie from pbk at the moment. If we go that route I'll accent with gender "appropriate" colors once LO is born. I know I want simple white furniture nothing ornate.

I know what you mean about keeping in neutral. We are actually switching bedrooms, so the room we are in will become the nursery. Well, when we first painted that room, DH wanted dark blue, so we did dark blue - it looks like a University of Buffalo bedroom (DH's university). Since we're having a boy, DH wants to leave it, I want to paint it something neutral because DS will have to share that room with any future DC.

the baby bargains book mentions something about a paint by numbers kit, I would LOVE to try that... Don't know when I'll have the time, though.

Re: Nursery Themes
We're doing a monkey theme for our baby's room. We ordered this from etsy. We decided on a minty-sage green and cream paint. The furniture will be dark brown.

DS1- monsters!!!! Bought him a Cocalo Peek-a-boo monsters bedding set and painted the room green- cherry furniture. DS2- little animals dressed as superheroes!!!! Was looking for something with a cute theme like DS1 and found a Cocalo set Superhero Pals. It's so adorable! His room will be blue.
Pics of DS1's room are in an album I have. Don't have pics for DS2's room yet, but his bedding is on the December thread!

DD's nursery is painted green and cream with a chair rail. She has pink bedding, valences, and rug with a touch or brown. Her furniture is espresso. This LO will eventually share so we'll just add a name decal and toddler bed if it's a girl but if it's a boy we'll have to find some more neutral valences and rug. DH has a vinyl cutter so he'll make some decals I'm sure. No idea how we'll make it cute for a boy and a girl if we need to!

Re: Nursery Themes
For our son we had adorable monkey bedding with bright primary colors, the walls were orange and the carpet blue. I loved his nursery. We moved and when we did we did more of a little boy theme (he was just shy of 2) and did blue walls, sports bedding, and sports and car decals.
For our DD we are doing lavender walls, emma bedding from pottery barn, a crystal lamp, wall outlets with glitter, very girly and pretty but no real theme though the sheets and carpet are the same pottery barn pattern and we got someone on etsy to make her a name plaque to coordinate w the bedding. Furniture it a distressed grey.

We are painting the room grey for our baby boy. Most of the bedding is grey and white, and we did the CoCaLo Julian blanket to pull in some green and blue. We are doing dark wood furniture.

I'm not into themes so I just picked a bedding with colors I liked and went from there. Her room is shades of lavender, gray, and pink.

DD's nursery will be pink, white and grey. We didn't register for a bedding set, just cute sheets, breathable bumpers and a pink velour blanket to drape over the crib when LO is not using it.

Re: Nursery Themes
We did a Beatrix Potter - Peter Rabbit theme. It was my favorite book/nursery story when I was a child. Pottery Barn Kids had all of the bedding and some accessories. Then, I found other accessories online like plates, books, stuffed animals, and even a little floor stand-on-it's-own Peter. The wall color is BM Nantucket Fog. I got the rug cheap on Overstock. The furniture was from BRU - I was going to order online at Costco, for cheap, but we had GC to BRU and we ended up getting 20% off so we actually only laid out like $100 for the furniture, so we had to do it that way. HTH!
The quotes on the wall I had made online (Etsy) they are just stick on and I had them done in a custom quote of my choice -- the one is a quote from "I love you forever" which is a book my mom read to me a lot when I was little. The other, "there's a thin line between dreams and memories" is from a Toby Keith song - I am OBSESSED with Toby Keith so I had to incorporate him SOMEHOW. :)

Overstock.
I would just google TRELLIS RUG - I did that when I was looking for mine and found one there but there were tons of nice ones from all different companies.

Re: Nursery Themes
We didn't do a theme - I did a very eclectic vintage look with antique soda bottles, metal signs, and lots of cool retro bric-a-brac. We used Olympia Sweet Pea paint on top of white chair rail and had crown moulding with wood floors. My goal was not to have it look baby-ish, and something that could grow with DS once he is out of the crib, etc.
I get SOOOO many compliments on it.

Re: Nursery Themes
We're having a boy and we're doing a classic car/muscle car kind of theme. We got a vinyl decal of a car that will go on the wall behind the crib.
We're going with this bedding (sheet and bumper only):
We're going to have a solid navy area rug in front of the crib and everything else (like bins) will be navy.
