I do not believe the pause has been extended, the state of emergency has been extended. The state of emergency was declared on March 7th, pause did not begin until March 22nd. So you do not have to have one to have the other. At his briefing this morning, he mentioned nothing about a pause extension.

I don’t know how to post the picture, but it appeared in my phone alerts with NYC news as part of his briefing today.

Re: NY Pause has been extended...again
I watched the NY King today and didnt hear him say that BUT I did see something online saying he signed something a day or two ago saying it was extended to June 7. Maybe he didnt want people to know over the weekend. It makes sense considering the NJ King did the same extension. Is anyone really surprised? Spoiler Alert: In June he will extend through July.

Yup. Just saw the article. He’ll probably state it on Monday.
This is the end of our freedoms as we know it. I’m writing to every local official I can uh the hopes they can push back at the king. Everyone I spoke to agree 100% with the fact that we have to open back up (with safety protocols) because our civil liberties are being taken away every second we comply with this.
Not good. Not good at all Link

The state of emergency has been extended. The NJ governor said extending the state of emergency does not delay reopening plans. I could be wrong, but I don't think this is the same thing as the pause order.

I think that's what it is... it's 2 different things. Not that I think he'll open anything any time in the next year. But that's a whole other story

But didnt he already extend the state of emergency to July 8, as of a few weeks ago? There was another thread here about that.

NY Pause has been extended...again
It seems that if a region meets the criteria before June 6th, they can reopen.

I read this as well. If the region meets the benchmark criteria they can begin phase 1.

If a region meets criteria today it can begin. He Extended the actual pause from May 15th to June 7 now.

I think NYC/LI is what's keeping the pause order extending. Upstate NY will be ready to go way before us, some regions before June 6th. Us- I'm thinking sometime in July for phase 1 down here.

Re: NY Pause has been extended...again
The king will continue to move the carrot until every cent he’s asking for from the Fed is paid.
Forget about the American Dream in NY Businesses gone. From thriving to depending on the government to sustain ourselves. Homes, property taxes.... can’t afford it on UI, PUA & Stimulus combined. There is no coming back from this if it continues.

I'm waiting for the day people have finally had enough and there is anarchy. How will NYC/LI ever reopen with his unrealistic 7 expectations.

Re: NY Pause has been extended...again
Honestly I thought on May 15th he would announce it would be another month (so June 15th).
Like the NJ major announced on May 5th he was extending it to June 5th.

NY Pause has been extended...again
This has been a hard pill to swallow today.
I would understand it more if the numbers weren’t improving, but they have been.
Each and every day for the past few weeks.
There is so end in sight and no glimmer of hope left anymore. I am having a very tough time processing this today.

Re: NY Pause has been extended...again
The amount of frustration is indescribable.
I couldn’t tell you how Much of my now free time I spend contacting local officials. It’s literally become a job. Both to get unemployment (which I have yet to receive but got a call and “should” see something by the end of next week) and to have small businesses reopened.
I get it. The virus is deadly. It’s easily transmitted. But with the numbers rising most in people who are supposedly “home”, why aren’t we opening our businesses and letting people decide for themselves whether they want to venture into a store? Why have we had our choice made for us? I was on board in the beginning. Before we knew anything and hospitals were busting at the seems. We were asked to flatten the curve. WE HAVE DONE JUST THAT. Let us decide for ourselves what we want to do. I can go to every big box store out there and buy whatever I feel like , but I can’t go to my local stores? Why can’t I make that decision for myself? The same people walking around Home Depot and target are the same people walking around my local boutique, small business etc. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? Why are flowers essential and dog grooming not?? What. The. Fu%k is going on

Exactly. I can’t go to target anymore because lines are wrapped around the store to get in.

Re: NY Pause has been extended...again
I saw the king’s 4 phases and education is listed at #4. How are people supposed to work without their kids in school if that’s the last phase of re-opening?

Who are you writing to/calling to voice your concerns? I want to start making noise myself. There has to be something we, as a people, can do, other than just lie down and take it. It's come to that point.
