I took these over the summer when they opened up Highline Park over by the meat packing district.
I really want to go over there one day. I have a question about these pics - they seem to glow a little. Did you use any filters in Photoshop to give them that look? If so, I'd love to know how you did it. They look great.
Love the pic of the tree in the tracks too... Perfect combo of hard and soft.

These photos were taken by Greenfreak, not her niece. She uses a Nikon DSLR.

Kat is right, they're my pics and I shoot with a Nikon D70. For the few pics I posted, there are hundreds more that aren't that good. I practice a lot and make a lot of changes to the camera to get it right.
I shouldn't admit that, should I?

I like that you admitted that...it takes a lot of practice to get a good shot!

Beautiful pics. I miss Central Park. When I lived in the city, a lot of times on weekends I would just get lost in the park...always discovering something I never knew about before

Beautiful pics. I shoot a lot of small weddings in central park - mostly the ladies pavillion and shakespeares gardens. It's a fun place to work!

Yep its MSG. When I worked in the city, my window looked right over it. It looks very different from the top view!

Thanks! I use Picnik.com. Its a free site but you can pay $25 for the year and have access to a lot more editing tools! Its fun to play around with!

Does she go to Northport HS? I ask because we had a "Cities" class and we took trips in to NYC. That is how I learned how to read a mass transit map, how to ride the subways and buses and learned about a lot of the historic aspects of the city. I loved that class!

Nope, she's on the south shore. I think it's great that high schools are doing this though. Not only is it a cool field trip for the kids but they absolutely can learn things that could help them later in life!
