NYC Elementary Teachers Talk to me about your new work schedule due to new contract
My school's SBO was rejected. We have been given the default. This is the default schedule.
Mon. 8:20-4:00 2:40-4:00 PD
Tues. 8:20-3:55 2:40-3:55 parent engagement/professional work
Wed-Fri. 8:20-2:40
My principal refused to start any earlier than 8:20.
I have a few friends in the NYCDOE and their SBOs were rejected as well. They also got the default but with varying start times.
Did anyone's SBO get accepted? If so, what does it look like?
I'm upset because my commute is already 2 hours on the way home. Leaving at 4 will add probably 1/2 hour if not more. Especially if most NYC elementary teachers are leaving at the same time!

Our sbo passed
We start at 8, but it's pretty much the same as yours. Mon tues til 3:40, we'd-fri til 220.

I teach high school. Our SBO passed.
Monday 720-140 140-300 PD
Tuesday 720-140 140-255 "Teacher Time/parent engagement/professional work"
Wednesday 720-140
Thursday 720-140
Friday 720-140
We've always done a SBO for an earlier start.

Ours passed and this what we did too. I am D75.

M-8:10-2:30 and 2:30-3:50 PD and teacher teams
T-8:10-2:30 and 2:30-3:45 parent contact/work in rooms
W-F 8:10-2:30

Ours passed and this what we did too. I am D75.
This. Which for us means losing 4 periods a week with the students.

Ugh we start at 820 and mon out at 355 tues 4pm and w-f 2:40
