The fully transparent, outdoor elevator - named Ascent - is being created as part of a $3.3billion development "in the crown of" One Vanderbilt, midtown Manhattan.
It will transport tourists 1,210ft up alongside the 77-storey tower, while sky boxes - nicknamed Levitation - will jut off of the building and suspend people 1,063ft above Madison Avenue.

No. I have gone on glass floors on things like the CN tower and other high up spaces, but there is no way I would go on the glass elevator.

I am intensely claustrophobic (so I don't ride elevators as it is), but absolutely not. I would have a panic attack!

No. That wouldn't help either.
I am also extremely claustrophobic so I avoid elevators at all costs.
However, if the elevator was inside the building with glass; I would be OK with it. I would prefer that all elevator walls are see through especially where the doors close. It might help...
