Looking on the weather.com map - Looks like it's crossing the Nassau/Suffolk border and heading east. It's a long enough cell (north-south and skinny, so short lived) that most of LI will get it. Then it should calm down for a minute then there is a second smaller cell behind it. I'm at exit 58 off the LIE and hearing some really low, distant thunder, dark clouds are heading this way and the wind is picking up here and there.

I thought that warning said till 4pm!!!!!!!!
I was just on my way home from Target and saw 3 bolts come down and one hit a poll and I saw the top of it catch on fire!!
I'm in Wantagh, btw.

Its going good here in Miller Place now...thunder, lightening, some rain. Last week when we had those storms a power line went down (and caught fire) around the corner for me and we had no power for about 3 hours; hoping not to have that problem tonight...I'm waiting for it to blow over then I am going father's day shopping

I keep having power surges now...and my cable box has totally given up on trying to keep up. It just went into full reboot.

Crazy! We lost power for a second...not enough to do anything serious....just enough to scare the pants off a 4 year old who just went to bed (thanks storm!!). But now I hear fire trucks off in the distance....

our power was out for about 3 hours in massapequa, just came back on...
that was fun during bedtime with a 13 month old

DH and I took train home LIRR had to stop at Broadway and since there was a signal problem, they had no idea when we would get moving so we got out wait with everyone for the bus. Took the bus to Little Neck by Scobee diner and walk back to Great Neck. Must have been some storm.
