NYC teacher data reports
The DOE is due to release the inaccurate and unreliable teacher data reports today, based solely on standardized test scores from 2010 state exams known to be invalid; with the names of 4-8th grade individual teachers attached. All the major newspapers are likely to post these false and defamatory reports as soon as tomorrow . I suggest you refrain from looking up your child’s teacher, but if you do, you should NOT believe ANYTHING the report says.

I am glad I do not teach in NYC for this reason alone... I can't believe they have the gall to label and publish teachers as ineffective due to student test scores.
As if that's the only way to learn!

mom here... Two of my son's middle school teachers got VERY low percentages...
I don't believe it.. The proof is in the pudding and from my interaction with them this year, I believe they are EXCELLENT teachers.

When did teachers become the villains in this country? this state?
Sometimes I am so sorry I became a teacher because I am so sick of defending my job to people who know nothing about.

I can't believe they put that woman's picture and name and salary in the paper. That's disgusting. All this will do will start a mob mentality. I can't wait for them to post HS scores.

The NY Post isn't fit to line my garbage pail. This is a witch hunt with people who have no idea about sound educational practice lighting the torches.
